Calories consumed at different times
Ok, this is my 1rst post, so hi !.
Well i have a question :P
if you, in the whole day, for a total of 2600 calories, does it realy matter if you, in 3 meals, consume them like this:
1.-breakfast, 1500 cal. lunch, 800 cal. dinner 300 cal. (most at breakfast, least at dinner)
2.-breakfast 866 cal. lunch, 866 cal. dinner 866 cal.(Eating the same amount on all meals)
3.-breakfast 300 cal. lunch, 800 cal. dinner 1500 cal.(least at breakfast, most at dinner)
Well, ive always thought that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so breakfast is the meal where you have to eat the most, and dinner the least.
but is there any major difference if you consume the calories in different times of day?
Good question! Personally I like to try to spread out my calories for my 3-4 meals evenly throughout the day. If I end up consuming too many calories early in the day, by the time dinner time rolls around I'm starving and have a tendency to want to over eat. But I guess it's really what works best for you. I really don't think it matters one way or the other, but you don't want to overload at dinner. Your metabolism slows down when you sleep, so you don't want all those calories sitting in there not getting burned off.
No, not really.
most people try to consume less at dinner and more at lunch or breakfast. Just because you are most active during the day. Personally, i dont think it matters. i've been eating my biggest meal at dinner my whole life and im not overweight (im mainly on here for weight managment)
Well im here for weight management as well, and i do think that it doesnt matter at what time you eat the calories, because you use them at the end, but what i think is that eating the most at breakfast is best because (i think) this meal gives you the energy of the whole day, but its just my opinion, i cant realy prove it haha :P
If calories in = calories out, there will be no weight gain or loss. It does not matter when you consume them on the interval you've chosen (24hrs). It does not matter when you consume them as long as your intake&burn are equal.
