I am new to the site and have found the food log really useful in monitoring calorie intake. However, I may be being completely thick or just not thinking straight, but can someone explain the calorie counters that are presented on my home page, i.e. the ratio between the 'eat meter' and the 'burn meter.'
My personal Eat Meter shows a daily goal of 1350 calories and my Burn Meter shows a total estimate of 2210 calories.
Sorry to waste people's time, but a simple explanation would help!!

Hi. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the burn meter is based on the hight and weight and activity level you entered. The eat meter just shows what you've consumed based on the foods you enter in your log. I'm new here too and just figuring everything out, but feel free to respond if you have more questions!
Hey - based on your height and weight and activity level, you burn a certain number of calories a day. Then, based on what you're eating, you consume a certain number of calories a day. You should be burning much more than you're consuming if you want to lose weight. for yoru level of activity and your BMI, calorie counter will suggest how many calories you should be consuming on a daily basis in order to eat healthy and still lose weight. if you want to eat more than your allowance, you need to up your activity level to cancel out the extra calories. Make sense?
