I have a Slim-Fast for breakfast because it is quick and I can drink it on the way to class in the morning. For lunch today I had about 418 calories and I don't know what I am going to have for dinner tonight.
Is this good and is there a set amount of calories you should have per meal?
I am 5'7", 265ish and shooting for 1800-2200 calories a day.

Well here's just one of the many ways you can break it down. if I was going for 800 calories, I would split the majority of that equally among breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then I would leave at least several hundred calories to split between two snacks (one between breakfast and lunch and one between lunch and dinner) So for instance, you could have... 400 for breakfast, 250 for snack, 500 for lunch, 150 for snack and 500 for dinner.
this is a nice spread and it will keep your metabolism going. I don't have the link but I know that eating every 3-4 hours is better than just 3 large meals a day because after 3 hours of not eating, your metabolism slows way down. Splitting up your meals into smaller, more frequent ones also keeps you feeling more full in between your meals.

thanks this helps
yeah that helps me too. btw, what about kids like me who have to go to school? its not like we have snacktime or anything. from 730 to 12:30, we don't get any chance to eat. none of my teachers allows food in class, and we can't really eat in the hallways either. we get in trouble. :(
Missybear, If your still in High School, hopefully you are still young enough to not worry about this quite as much as the older folks whose metabs have tended to slow down a bit. Just make sure to eat breakfast (very important) and keep the lunch relatively healthy and make sure to have some kind of good snack right after school so you won't be tempted to overeat at dinner because your so hungry.
