How many calories did I eat in this meal?

Quote  |  Reply

So tonight after homecoming, I went to a diner with my friends to have dinner. I'm not exactly sure on the count for this meal so I was wondering what you guys thought :-)

egg white omelet: 3 egg whites, a few mushroom slices

2 slices wheat toast (looks kinda like the kind that is 70 cals each): came with butter on it but the butter was not visible (melted in) and it didn't taste too buttery....idk

3 small bites of my friend's pancakes: no butter or syrup

3 slices homefry potatoes (each slice slightly larger than a quarter)

Thanks. I would really appreciate your help :-)

I entered this into the food database and came up with:

3 egg whites
1/4 cup mushroom, sliced
1 tsp vegetable oil
2 slices wheat toast
1 Tbs margarine
1/4 pancake
1/4 cup potato
1 tsp salt

I added oil bc they always cook omelettes in oil. Margarine was most likely used in the restaurant as they never use real butter anymore. Salt because homefries are relatively plain.

it's always impossible to tell with restaurant meals

i mean if there is even 1TBSP more of butter or oil

that's another 100 calories

and things like pancakes, a pancake made from batter with  4C of sugar is going to be totally dfferent than pancake made from batter with 2C of sugar

I dont think there was even 1 TB of butter. In inpatient rehab, I was required to use only 1 tsp of butter on my toast and I it was smothered, so this seemed to be that or less. Not sure about the oil though. But I know a lot of restaurant pancakes have about 110 each. I don't think my 3 small bites added up to 1/4 pancake. Idk, I just want to feel safe with what I ate. But I agree with the sugar thing.

i'm not trying to make you feel unsafe about it at all.... it wasn't a lot of food and it was probably very close to what the other poster said around 350-450. don't worry about it, homecoming burns a lot of calories anyway ;)

i'm just saying that with restaurant food there is always a chance it can be sneaky.

Why are you even trying to count calories?  According to your prior posts you are a little underweight.  Why not just enjoy a full meal once in a while since you could stand to gain a few pounds.

Sorry I can't be more sympathetic, but you are agonizing over nothing important, like so many girls your age.

Okay thank you guys. I already ate it anyway, so I'll just try to focus on the fact that I had fun :-)
