is that what the website said?

yes that's what it says but it all depends (maybe i'm wrong) on how much you wish to lose in a certain amount of time.

I have heard that the more overweight you are you don't want to reduce the calories too much or you won't lose as quickly because it's too much of a drastic change from how many you were eating before. This is my concern.

I have no idea how many I was eating before either.

thanks

I'm a little bit taller than you, but started out at 336.  I've been following the calorie recommendation and I've lost 102 lbs so far.  The recommendation here was actually consistent with what my doctor and registered dietician gave me as calorie goals.

It's definitely better to lose the weight slowly 1-2 lbs per week.

I agree slow is good. It has proven it'self over and over that when you lose slow you have more chance of keeping it off. Small changes are good too as it doesn't throw your body into shock.

I have always been a healthy eater. Meaning I eat veggies, love salad, love low fat proteins and fiber foods and drink lots of water. So i'm lucky in that regards that I don't have to change much.

Seems that lack of exercise and calorie/portion control is key for me .

Congrats on your weight loss that's fantastic. One day at a time I know . I will get there eventually and maybe losing this way instead of having the gastric bypass surgery my skin will shrink slowly and less chance for the need of plastic surgery to remove all that loose skin.

Fingers crossed and lots of prayers.
