Ok ladies now I'm still nursing my 14 months DD. I'm 5'6 and 167 lbs with 38% body fat %(I've been sedentary for a quite long time. yea im yucky). So, honestly how many calories should I be taking to lose from 1 to 2 lbs per week????

On a side note, anyone knows how many lbs I should lose to lose from 5 to 8 inches from my body measurments??????

Thank

Here are some calculators that you can check out:

As for your second question, it varies from person to person.  One person can lose a good amount in pounds but their measurements hardly budge while another can lose very little in pounds but lose a significant amount of inches.

To have more success in losing inches, you will need to incorporate weight training into your workout routine.

Good Luck!

I think that to get 5-8 inches off you are going to have to tone as well as loose weight. We mommies have to tighten up the muscles again, and weight loss alone won't tighten them up.

Thanks ladies!!

But the weight loss calculators online give me what I think a big estimate of my caloric needs. They vary from 2500 to 27ooc per day to maintain weight!! I think this is way too high, and it means I should be losing weight at 2000 c which is not happening! And, of course  I know I need a lot of toning, but I'm focusing now on fat loss, and then I'll focus on toning, or what do you think???

They go hand in hand. The weight loss will happen faster if you incorporate toning exercises into it. Like yoga, pilates, or swimming.
