Calories and Losing weight

Quote  |  Reply

Please Clarify! If my daily calories say 2200 and I'm only eating around 1600 from my food log and exercising then how come I'm not losing weight? I thought eating less calories is a good things then I hear that eating less calories could send your body into starve mode. Please help with advice and ideas.

If it says for you to eat 2200 to lose weight then thats what you eat. What are your stats. Also make sure you have the correct activity level set. How long have you been doing this ?
I worry about this too. What is my calorie intake for optimal weight loss? For me I believe 2200 is what I was eating that keeps me at 175lbs. 1450 is what my goal is for weight loss and 1800 is what my normal intake is suppose to be for when I am my goal weight. I'm 5'1'"
Well I'm 5'7 a mother of 2 that are 5 and 7. 198pounds size 14. I've had 2 csections so right there my stomach is a hard spot that I'm dealing with. So far I haven't come anywhere close to eating my 2200 calories a day. I'm exercising to everyday and so far nothing. Does it sound like I should up my calorie intake? Do you think my body is in the starve mode?
If you are exercising....and not eating enough calories....you might not lose weight. I remember something I saw on the biggest loser...one of the guys was eating like 1300 calories and he was suppose to be eating around 2100....he wasn't losing weight and his trainer explained to him that he was doing himself a disservice with only eating the 1300 calories because his body needed more than that.
Well then I guess I have to eat more and get my calories up along with my working out. Boy this should be a treat! I'm going on a cruise in april so I have to get there!

It also kind of depends on what you're eating and whether it's hanging around in your system too long. Maybe try and up your fibre intake, get things moving along? That kind of diet, mixed with the exercise is good if you're trying to lose weight fast from my experience!

Yes I have a problem with some foods staying in my system to long. The main one is slice bread. Thats why I don't eat it very much it constipates me and I have to use another source of fiber.
