Weight Loss
Moderators: duke3522, devilish_patsy, topanga1485, nycgirl, spoiled_candy, cmillington, coach_k This site has calculated that I should be eating 1750 cal per day in order to lose 1 - 2 lbs a week. How many should I have for breakfast, lunch, dinner and two healthy snacks? 510 cal each for breakfast, lunch and dinner and 100 each for a snack? Or should it be more for dinner and less for breakfast, say 210/510/710 and two 100cal snacks?
Thanks very much!

To help i have found a healthy low cal snack in tesco's. It has cucumber sticks and a little dip. It is about 80-90cals and costs 89p
spread it out over the course of the day as much as you can. A lot of people have a good size breakfast, moderate size lunch and good supper, with small snacks in between. This seems to control hunger and cravings, and keeps the metabolism revved up and burning calories. You need fuel to function.
Here's my breakdown. I also have to keep my blood sugar in target so my choices are dependent on what gives me good results at my testing times.
Breakfast 250
AM Snack 80 (if needed)
Lunch 420
PM Snack 80 or 140-160 (lower amount if I had the AM Snack)
Pre-exercise Snack (if needed) 100-140
Dinner 680 - 820 (depends on the snacks)
Bedtime Snack 100
It's usually recommended to have more calories in the mornings, but my body doesn't handle that very well.

I actually like to have a medium breakfast, larger lunch, smaller dinner, I feel not quite so bloated in the morning.
Breakfast 350 or so
Lunch 600
Dinner 500 ish
And snacks of about 200 or so =)

Snack- 150
Lunch- 450
Snack - 150
Dinner- 450
Snack- 100
That comes to your total. ;)

I'm not sure if it helps, but...I graze all day. On fruits and veggies and then supplement other things when I'm hungry. I do have a full breakfast but then after that it's fair game until I reach 1200, which, while grazing all day is a bit difficult, but if I bring stuff with me to work, then I already have my allotted calories in the bag!

I guess I tend to increase my cals as the day goes... I exercise at night, so I'm usually famished after, and I also *heart* snacking in front of the tv, so I try to save my cals for then. I guess it's all about understanding your natural inclinations, and tailoring your diet to that. Hope this helps!
I usually eat 350-400 Calories for breakfast ( Cereal)
Then I have like little meals throughout the rest of the day for example the rest of my meals through the day are about 300 calories so I fit in a good 4 more meals for the day and I wait 3 hours in between each so i eat about 1600 calories a day.
