Calories + Mixed drinks
Hi, I know there's been a zillion threads about this type of stuff and I've done a search but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm going on a trip to Canada this weekend where I'll be legally allowed to drink and go to bars. I'd really like to try more interesting drinks (rather than vodka and diet coke which I usually drink) but I don't want to break the calorie bank with things like daquiris. I'd like to try a martini or cosmo of some kind but I'd like some kind of calorie estimate. I'm limiting myself to 2 drinks and I can certainly devote 400 or so calories to this, I was just looking for suggestions.

400 calories on 2 drinks? You probably have some freedom then. In fact I'd just go and have your two drinks and consider that a fair night out!
I haven't calculated the calorie counts on these - but per shot you can pretty much guarantee 100calories each

Sex on the Beach?
Look at the martini ingredients - anything made with flavoured vodka will taste strong but likely lower in calories than ones with sugary flavouring added to the mix.

I know my mom always gets chocolate vodka and seltzer and it's pretty good - I think that would be a pretty good option :D How about a whiskey sour? does anyone know a calorie estimate on that? I know that's another drink my mom orders out a lot.

I looooove whiskey and gingers...mmm that would be pretty easy to calculate, because the only ingredients are whiskey and ginger ale..
Also a big fan of Effen black cherry vodka and tonics..again verry easy to calculate as only 2 ingredients and absolutely delicious!!!
Or a bombay gin and tonic with extra lime mmm:)
Make sure they give you tonic and not soda water...that is integral to the deliciousness of the drink.
also, if you like chocolate/ sweet drinks, a chocolate cake shot is awesome!! basically just vodka, lemon, a lil sugar and frangelico (hazelnut liquer) somehow it tastes exactly like chocolate cake:)
Mudslides are pretty bad for you, I would avoid those like the plague. Anything creamy is probably going to be close to 400 cals for one cocktail.
Martinis are also really high in calories, lots of sugary additives. If you want the biggest bang for your buck, drink hard liquor with calori-free additives such as club soda, diet soda, or even bloody mary's are a "healthier" option. Beware: tonic water has calories. But a flavored vodka with club soda is refreshing AND easier on the waistline. You could have 4 of those at 100 cals. a piece.

Nooo I hate beer, the whiskey sour looks pretty good. I hope they have lots of good flavored vodkas! All these drinks sound SO good!
Just went out and had a couple of So-Co's with Lime:
Shot of Southern Comfort, Diet Lemonade and a Splash of Lime Cordial. Very nice and about 100cals each. Yummy yum :)
I vote for Mai Tai. 1 drink is probably around 400 cal, lol, but it's so worth it. I think in general if you are looking at coktails one drink would probably bring you up to 400 cal. Considering one shot is usually 100-140 Cal. Most coctails have couple shots, then you add juices and whatenot.

Captain Morgan and diet coke. Less than 100 calories.
Make sure you eat plenty to keep your muscles strong and recovering quickly from your workouts.or you can try some steroids for enhance genetics ;)
One of my favorites is a mojito, only about 160 cals or so per drink. It has fresh lime and rum. I also like mixing vodka and light cranberry juice, with a little fresh squeezed lime.

Retro: why do you recommend steroids? I'm not trying to bulk up at all! I'll be skiing so that'll be a great work out so I'll have calories to spare, but I'm not really counting this weekend so it doesn't matter. I'm just trying not to "spend" too much on alcohol.
