hi,  i guess it depends on where you go,  i went to a clinic a few weeks ago to "talk" andout my ed,  they told me somes tuff i did not want to hear...like stop exercizing blah blah.  I was 103 and 5 ft 6 though,  so happy you are getting help now.  thanks for my american vacation and good food and rest i think i am around 110 now, maybe more.  we aggreed on 120, but if i stay at 115 i think it will be good.  also they told me to stop counting everything, stop weighing everything including myself, because i have some problems obbsessing about numbers,  i still do but it think i will have it forever i am ok with that though.  you just have to decide whats best for you,  i am cutting back on exercize and i am eating more junk food....like everyday.  i think this will work.  good luck
Assuming you're reasonably active and assuming you're over 20 then you'll need around 2500 cals a day on a steady basis to gain roughly 1lb a week.  If you're very active on the other hand, or if you're under 20 then you may need a lot more.

I'm sure the people at the clinic will be very friendly, supportive and interested in you.  Explain when you get there that you're nervous and they'll do their best to put you at your ease.  If you want something positive to discuss, keep a record of the food you eat until you get there (a food diary) and then you can show them that you're actively helping yourself gain weight.

Best of luck

hey im 5'7 and not up to 114 yet and im eatting 1800-2000 a day TOTALLY sedentary,.... so get to eatting!

at my appts ive been to i am usually asked about my control with food problems, obcessing with food and trying to veer those controls somewhere else actively in my life and have a healthy relationship with food. try and focus on what you have going for you in your life, and what you may hide or kno needs work, and put your thoughts and accomplishments on it rather than using food to justify feeling okay/safe.

non of the appts i have been to sorry not much help, but they have not been useful to me. i am going recovery pretty much alon ewith the help of my parents, and i do definitely say if you have doctors/counselors who will help you PLEASE DO IT!! do not try and fix yourself on your own.
