My daily calorie limit is 1400 and a few hundred more on Spin days. So how many do I need now if I'm pregnant?

You need to talk to your OB about this, I was overweight with my last pregnancy, so they allowed me to stay around 1500- but obviously the health and well being of the baby are too important to just guess on this one.  Your OB should easily be able to look at your BMI and determine the right balance for you to grow that baby.

Oh and .... Congratulations!!! :)

How tall are you and how much do you weigh?  How active are you?

I have read that you need an average of 300 calories plus your maintenance calories.

I agree with darcymom about speaking to your OB.  Each person and pregnancy is different.  300 extra calories is the average but may not be right for you.

Good luck and Congratulations.

I'm 5'3.5" and according to the doctor's scale I weigh 136 as of yesterday.  I'm pretty active. Spinning 2X a week and weight training 2x a week. My OB told me to not resume working out until I have the test results back on Monday for my HCB level. I hope all is well so that I can do my best to have a healthy baby.

If you are pretty active in working out, then I would say you are in between light activity and moderate activity.  I put your stats into this calculator and got the following:

@ 5'3":  Since you're pregnant, you'll need at least 2,245 calories to gain some weight and maintain your activity level.

@ 5'4":  Since you're pregnant, you'll need at least 2,395 calories to gain some weight and maintain your activity level.

During the second and third trimesters, the amount you eat daily will need to increase by about 300 calories. Chances are that won't be hard! On average, a pregnant woman gains some 25 to 35 pounds by the time her due date rolls around. Even if you were overweight before you got pregnant, it's not a good idea to lose weight right now. Instead, your doctor will probably recommend that you gain less weight while pregnant than most women do.

Since you are 5'3.5" you should be consuming around 2245 - 2395 calories.
