184 calories for pancake??

Quote  |  Reply

I went to eat to this breakfast place this lunch. They had a pancake on the menu at 184 calories. I took it and it was delicious... but I still can't believe it was ONLY 184... I need your help! Here is what was inside: apple (probably one small) with cinammon, cottage cheese (probably 1/2 cup of 2%) and the crepe (made with bio wheat). The way I look at it it was around 75 calories for the apple, 100 for the cheese and it has to be at least 50 for the crepe... What do you think? Is 184 calories possible? The crepe was all folded so I can't really tell the size of it but it tasted healthy, meaning it was not greasy at all... By the way, I live in Montreal (Canada) so it's not your typical american breakfast place, it's a rather fancy restaurant... Thanks

that seems super, super low.  is it possible that the serving size was like, half a pancake or something?

no, the portion was pretty decent... I coud have stopped eating before actually finishing it but since it was very good, I ate it all, I wasn't feeling too full after, just perfect...

You crack me up. Two posts for the same question, one related to the word pancake and the other to the word crepe (crêpe). Anyways we, Americans, know what you mean.

For a "French" crêpe, your calorie total sounds about right. An "American" pancake contains more calories.

Your description of your breakfast made me hungry :-) I love those crêpes.

well, I wanted to delete the first one but I did not know how... but hey... the first time I ate a pancake in the States... let just say I did not get what I was expecting...man that thing was HUMONGOUS! and the only thing that had in common with pancake was the cake part... crazy... that's why I did another post...

I have to say that thing was delicious and so easy to fix at home, apples, cottage cheese and cinnamon... miammm, love breakfast!

By the way, congrats on the spelling of crêpes... with even the right accent, I'm french canadian, so...

hahaha yeah I have eaten a lot of crêpes in Paris myself but that version (with Grand Manier or Duo Penotti) is forbidden due to the high number of calories. Never thought about eating it with cottage cheese, but I am going to try.

Crêpe with Nutella and banana = mouth orgasm...  Especially with some corn flakes (no sugar).  Ah man, now I'm hungry...

Hey Lucie! Where did you get that? Sounds delicious! I'm from Ottawa but I go pretty often in Montréal.

There's this restaurant on Mont-Royal Avenue East, it's called L'Avenue (not very original I know).... The adress is: 922, avenue du Mont-Royal Est. The breakfast are just plain AMAZING but the rest of the food is also delicious, I've had the salmon with brie salad, the greek salad, the chicken luau salad, the grilled chicken club sandwich (with gruyère & avocado) and the fries are to die for... The ambiance is kind of hectic and weird but it's worth it. Be prepared to wait in line if you go during breakfast time on the week-ends... The portions are big and the prices are decent!
