How Many Calories Do You Think People In The Military Burn????????
How many calories do you think i'd burn?
This is like the 3rd topic you've posted about this. Are you trying to get attention?
Obviously you have to wait and see exactly what activities you are doing on a daily basis.
The amount of calories you burn depends on the job you have. So if you picked and Admin type job, you aren't going to burn as many calories as if you picked a mechanic job or what have you. I am not an expert on the USAF, but they seem to have more sedintary jobs available. Also it depends on your unit and how much/often you do PT. I am in the Army, but I am pretty sure the Air Force only does PT three times a week as opposed to five with the Army. And PT is designed to maintain, not improve (you will hear that a lot) so you have to work out on your own if you want to improve on your PT score. And it is not so much about calories as being able to pass the PT test and make weight. If you can't do that it hurts your career because you can't get promoted or any awards until you do meet the standard. That is when you actually get to a real unit. Basic training you will do nothing but exercise and burn calories. I lost 25 pounds at Army basic. But most ppl tend to gain some of it back once they return to the real world. Hope that helps.
After that it will depend on what you are doing, where you are assigned, how much PT your unit does, how much training you do on your own.
Military people are super-human---they burn 3 times as many calories as normal beings. ;-)
Depends on what kind of job you have. Plenty of AF people sit at desks all day long. If you're lucky, you'll go somewhere that gives duty time for PT, but count on having to do it on your own time if you want it to be worth anything. The AF is getting better at encouraging fitness, but they're nowhere near the Army or Marines.
WOW! Please tell me you don't seriously think that being in military gives you some sort of special calorie burning jolt!! I think you need to do some serious research regarding what you are signing up for at this point.
For the most part, the military is just like any other job. Yes, in basic training, you will work HARD. But, once you are really living the military life, working every day, etc, it's ALL on you. They set standards, and you either meet them or you lose your job. There is more "organized" physical training now than there used to be, but not as much as in some other forces. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in shape to meet the standards. In a lot of cases the only mandatory PT is when you have failed to meet the standards, but not before.
Also, as you get to school to learn your job you'll be a lot less active then you were in boot camp which is when a lot of people gain weight and don't even realize it. Don't even get me started on when you get to your command.
