me know if you were able to find what you were looking for. i'll be notified when you respond by email. i think the gal above was suggesting you may want a male buddy because it would be another guy, with more similar issues. you will lose the most the first week as you'll drop a lot of water that first week. men lose weight faster than women do too. i need to lose 51 lbs. i've lost 6 already since dec. 28th, 07. i couldn't wait until the beginning of the year. keep checking out this site. you'll get use to navigating it soon.

I put your stats into the calculator, and sedentary it says you burn 2300 cals a day. So for about a lb a week, you should go for about 1800. So 1700 is probably ok...if you are sedentary. One way or another, it is definitely not too much...if anything, if you are quite active, it may be too little. (The joys of being a guy...I would be eating about 1800 to MAINTAIN). BTW, I added you to my friends list :)

It really does vary between your heigth and weight as well as how much you want to lose
I'm on 500 - calories a day for a week to really kickstart my diet and I'm only 5'2 lol, but as everybody will say it's not really healthy. the minimal you should go to is 1500 anything below 1000 will kill you
