Calories of raw turkey vs cooked turkey??

Quote  |  Reply

So, let's say on the package we have a 4oz serving of turkey that equals 120 calories (raw) .  We put it in the whole thing in the oven to bake with nothing added and take it out and THEN measure 4oz. How does the calories change?

Cooked meat generally weighs less than raw meat.  If you take 4 oz of raw meat and cook it, the cooked product will usually weigh less.

The calories wouldn't change because all you lose is water/moisture.  That's why it weighs less cooked than raw.
