I know this isn't a food liked by many people, but liver...is it really that high in calories? Or is the piece listed on this site perhaps a lot bigger than a typical helping? I also couldn't find any homemade gravy on here and wouldn't know how to go about suggesting it since I wouldn't know calories, etc (hence the reason for looking it up in the first place!) Does that just have too many variables to list on here (i.e. amount of flour, etc used to make it?)
under foods, go to new recipe and enter your recipe line by line. It can take a little bit of time for you to get all of the ingredients right... so try playing with it. Make sure to put in the correct number of servings, otherwise it might seem like you eat WAAAY too many calories :).
Good Luck!

A 125g (4oz) serving of lamb's liver (uncooked) is only 171 cals. Compared to something like raw chicken at 149 cals for 125g it's not all that different.
I think the kicker in liver is the cholesterol rather than the calories.
Yes, but it's also an excellent source of iron... The cholesterol content (like that in shellfish and eggs) doesn't really cause a problem if consumption is moderate.
Oh, I LOOOOVE liver. I haven't had it in years, and the only way I've liked it is unbreaded/no batter, pan fried with onions and mushrooms. I only ever had it as a child/teen, and assume it was beef liver. I know it's best to let it soak in milk first, but if anyone has any healthy and ideas or recipes for preparation, I'd love to hear them!
