Calories in a slice of pizza

Quote  |  Reply

Just curious what you all would count for 2 slices of take out cheese pizza (from a large pie).  I usually get it with mushrooms or spinach.  We might be getting it tonight and my tendencies in the past is to eat less to accomodate for it but I don't want to do that anymore.

Thanks!

I know, I know - that is that nasty ED mindset sneaking in.  Sorry, was getting too focused on numbers.

Two slices of pizza is probably less than you believe it to be. I don't know how many calories you usually eat for dinner, but its probably not as much. Don't restrict to make up for the fact that you are eating a fear food. Eat as you normally would during the day, breakfast, lunch and snacks. Eat and enjoy your pizza, maybe with some salad or a piece of fruit?Or both? because I can almost guarantee you that two slices of pizza is not enough for an entire meal for someone gaining weight.

Normally I would move this to Foods but I realise if I do that you'll likely get a lot of replies from people unaware of your history and dietary needs.

Agru is right. Just eat the pizza. Have at least three slices. Do not restrict or "make up" for it or anything like that. There is no upper limit in gaining and as such just eat heartily and enjoy yourself.

Wow! Not that hard of a question. CC has lots of choices for pizza, but a large slice is about 280 - 300 calories.  Less if the veggie type is made with the veggies added first and cheese placed on top.

I thought the calorie content was surprisingly low too!  The CHEESE is what's bad about pizza.....all that fat and cholesterol.  Other than that, it's not as bad for you as you think!

I'm really dismayed that people went ahead and posted calorie amounts after the previous replies, but hey. There you go.

I thought it would die too.  I realized after I posted I was in a ED mindset and did work past it.  I apologize for not removing the post (not sure if I could).  I did do great last night and have a renewed determination to keep gaining as the goal, not worrying about calorie counting.

I'm glad you had a good time. ^__^ There was nothing wrong with you making the post, incidentally. But I didn't want numbers triggering you at all, that was my concern. Heh.

Very difficult to count calories on take out pizza. Some shops use part skim mozzarella and others use whole milk. As you can see, calories very from one shop to the other and most of the mom and pop shops will never let you know what goes into their delicious offerings. I usually order pizza with just light mozzarella. Mozzarella and cheese are one in the same. I usually count three pieces as 1200 calories. I like to guage my calories on the higher side and I believe commerical pizza with mozzarella is higher than 300 calories. If you add sausage, mushrooms, anchovies, hamburg, or whatever else, that all adds up. I"m not sure where CC gets 300 calories for a piece of cheese pizza but I think they are counting cheese as grated and sprinkled over the tomato sauce? Mozzarella Cheese is high in calories and fat. I love pizza however and try to have it once a week, without over-doing it, which is so easy. Ask your pizza shop owner what type of cheese he's using. They'll most likely tell you, real cheese.

Bon apetito!!!!!! Sometimes we have to indulge.
