how many calories for my stats?

Quote  |  Reply

hello all!! OK OK i KNOW every one has asked a question like this at some point, so it should be easy to answer right? you guys all seem very good at this stuff, but i'm stuck at this one thing....

i am tryin to up my cals to lose the last 5-8 pounds....which i've been tryin to do for FOREVER it seems... i was eating around 1000-1100 cals a day but satisfied with it. i ddint feel hungry, but i think my body had just become used to it, and is now holding on to everything so no matter what exercise and healthy eating i do, i cant lose anymore....wow what a run on sentence... ANYWAY...

my question is how many cals should i be eating IF:

my burn meter is set at light activity because i workout around an hour every day, even though i sit a lot at work (should i change this to sedentary?) it says i burn about 1940 cals a day, not including exercise. When i do exercise i usually burn between 350-500 cals...

my eat meter says i should strive for 1400 cals.

so...should i be eating about 1400 cals a day to start losing weight again or so i need more than that? this is really confusing and thanks for any help you can send my way!! Laughing

hellllloooooo out there...

I set my activity level to sedentary because I have a desk job and then I add in my exercise each day.  My goal's to eat somewhere between 500-1000 calories less then I burn each day except for Fridays which is my regular cheat day.  On Friday I don't worry about it and eat what I want (within reason of course).  I have a lot further to go than you do but it's been working for me.

Im not a super expert when it comes to numbers, but I eat anywhere between 1400-1600 depending on how much exercise (1400 or less for none to little, and 1600 for my hour workouts)

It seems like you workout for a long time like I do. I would say 1100 is definately too small of a number. I would keep the cardio and up the calories and see if that works

Having your stats(age/height/weight) would be best to recommend a number a for you.
