How many calories are you supposed to have a day?
Some people say 2100 but that is WAAAY too much.
varies from person to person and according to your goals. so 2100 is not waaaaay to much unless you're 4'10, 80 pounds, 85 years old and trying to maintain your weight while being sedentary...lol. [ok a bit extreme but i think my point is clear.
in order for me to lose weight by my goal date, CC is telling me to eat 1215 cals a day
Oh really cool. Where can I find this so CC could tell me mine?
At the top of this screen a little to the right, click on "Tools". It will scroll down and then click calorie target. From there you can input your info and it will tell you your required calories.
I see you're still a teen. You require more calories than an adult. I'm sure someone will come along here and give you a link. You might start by checking in the Young Calorie Counters forum. That's what it's there for.

Enter your stats into this link if you're under 21. Read off the number that matches your activity level most closely. Now deduct 500 - 700 from that number. 1500 cals a day is the bare minimum that a sedentary, lightweight, shortish teenage girl needs to function so if the answer is less than 1500 round it up. If you're tall, heavy and/or reasonably active you need more.
NB.... If the chart shows that you are a healthy weight for your height and age then you may want to increase your exercise and choose healthier foods rather than cutting your calories at all. This is a much healthier and more sustainable way for a still-developing teenager to manage their weight.
thanks=]

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
