Calories in tea?

Quote  |  Reply

I was wondering how many calories are typically in tea? No sugar or milk added, just the teabag. I'm sure it depends on what kind of tea you're drinking, but is there a general range? Lately I've been drinking a peppermint flavored tea.

It's basically less than 5 calories.

About 2 - 4 calories, maybe? Very, very insignificant.

The fact you are even asking this worries me greatly.

@lala - I figured it was very low, and I was only asking to see if it was worth counting. It's obviously not! I don't know why more people don't use this as a diet aid - it's so filling!

I'm always baffled when I see questions like this.  Why not just look it up?

Not enough to worry about unless it's sweetened! Flavour molecules do NOT have any calories.

Many people dislike the taste of unsweetened tea. People whom I know love to drink tea with milk, honey, sugar, lemons etc. and even flavourings like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. There is no point using it as a diet aid anymore lol.
