Calories per day for wiight loss?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey I was just wondering if anyone could help me out..

Roughly how many calories should I be eating each day to lose weight?

I'm around 170 cm (about 5 foot 6) and I weigh between 60 and 65 kilograms (135-140 pounds). My activity levels are probably light to active.

Thanks for your help =)

Did you plug in all your information on this site? You basically want a deficit of about 500 calories roughly.

Healthily, you should probably be eating 1200-1500 calories a day plus excercise to lose weight and keep it off. But don't lose too much! You're already at a healthy BMI.

hi!  i'm around the same as you, but about an inch taller.  clearly, the less calories you eat, the more weight you'll lose.  you should never eat less than 1200 calories daily.  for me, i've been most effective sticking to 1400 daily because i still feel like i'm eating enough, but i'm losing roughly 2 lbs weekly.  i'm sedentary though due to injuries and laziness.  like mem18 said though, at a healthy bmi try not to lose too much weight.  the lowest your bmi should be to stay healthy is 19.  i've gone way lower than that and be super happy with the way that i looked, but it made me sick and killed my energy levels and it was very very hard to maintain.  good luck!
