I just ate a jar of sugar free bread and butter pickle chips..Yes! a whole jar! Heh.

Anyway, it's listed as 0 calories, but I know better then that. I estimated it at maybe 40 cals for the whole jar. Anyway here's the info on the jar:

Serving size: 1 oz. (28 g./ About 6 pieces)

Servings per Container: About 11

Calories: 0

Total Fat: 0

Sodium: 120 mg. (Ouch! Starts chugging the water. Ha Ha!)

Total Carb: 0

Sugars: 0

Protein: 0

I usually take the carb and times it by 4 (most pickle jars have at least 1 or a little less then 1 carb listed, but this had 0 which confused me.)

So would you say my guess at 40 cals is about right?

On the plus side, I love pickles and they were good. :P

I could totally do this - me loves bread & butter pickles.

I think you are probably right about the cals - since they were sugar free, basically you were just eating the equivilent of a whole cucumber, vinegar and spices.   See - one whole cucumber

I've never heard of them before but they sound nommy :)

Oh yeah - personally I wouldn't step on the scale for a week!  Can you say water retention from all that sodium Surprised!     Sometimes it's worth it though...

Thanks Thmheh!

Ha Ha yeah, the water retention is going to suck, but they ARE so worth it!

La_discotheque, if you ever find them be sure to pick them up! That is if you're not afraid of sodium. :P

:)

Pickles tend to be about 5calories per 30grams or so.

I go through a jar of those badboys every week. So much sodium but sooo good. :D

It is my understanding that any food with less than 5 calories per serving can legally be labeled zero calories.  So worst case scenario you ate 11 servings at 4.99 cals or 54.89 calories.

Edit: and they have to list more than half a gram of carbs, protein, and fat.
