Any Canadians out there...

Have you tried the Life brand energy bars from Shoppers Drug Mart (they're called Sportszone)? These are a godsend! I bought them to give myself extra energy before a workout because they have 14g of protein and only 193 cals each (and because they were the cheapest option - I'm a student). They're actually incredibly tasty and what's better, they work as a subsitute for vending-machine type chocolate snacks. I honestly can't remember the last time I ate a real chocolate bar but it's definitely been over a month.

What's even better is they're incredibly filling. The other night I was in serious "binge mode" - and I've been known to binge 2000 calories or more in under an hour. I managed 2 bars and had to stop eating because there was no more room in my stomach.

I'm aware that there are healthier snack choices out there, but these are great if you're looking for something fairly low-calorie to full you up.

LOL I've just realised that this post makes it sound like I work for Shoppers. I may write to them and demand money.

How big are they? I'll totally have to take a peak at them next time I'm in Shoppers. xD

I've found some nice protien bars in the Walmart pharmacy section that are only 150cal for a 40g bar (14-15g protein too). They're called Slim Down, come in a few different flavours... I really like the Choco-Almond Coconut.

(Sadly, I do work for Walmart... But these were just something I stumbled upon when I didn't have time to pack a lunch xDD)

There are a few different sizes but the 193 cal ones are 50g. There are also quite a lot of flavours ... my top 3 are the fudge brownie, mint chocolate and chocolate & peanut butter.

That sounds good, only 2 to feel fulll for a binge would be amazing for me as well! (I can binge on several thousand cals at once too :S urgh)

How much $ are they? And what other flavors??

I first started buying them because they were on sale for 99c each. Normally they cost $1.49 for one or you can buy a box of 12 for $14.99. Other flavours are strawberry & banana and caramel & peanut and possibly a couple of others I've forgotten.

Those definately sound good (especially the mint chocolate one. Mmm)

Definitely write to Shoppers about your advertising fee's... I'm sold. xDD

I find Shoppers more on the expensive side. Not many places as Almond Milk and shoppers does... for $3.29! I normally buy it as a specialty store for $2.30. I'm pretty sure i looked at the bars once but I'm sold on Atkins. Hard to find in Canada so this is my favourite site EVER:
