So what if your candidate doesnt become President?
If so, what primarily are you concerns or fears about the other party's candidate presidency?
McCAIN
* President Palin
* Criminalization of abortion
* Worsening deathrate / US debt attempting to settle another country's decade long civil war
* Passing his millionaire tax "cut" plan which provides millionaire earners a 4.4% tax cuts but under $66,000 income less than 1% tax cut, further burdening low to middle class.
McCAIN TAX CUT PLAN
less than $66K : income increase less than 1%
over $2.8 million: income increase 4.4%.
OBAMA TAX CUT PLAN
less than $66K : income increase 2.4-5.5%
over $2.8 million: income DECREASE 11.5%
haven't you heard, sun? if obama doesn't win, all the democrats are coming to canada (pssst: bring money!).
Im familiar with Dem concerns, surprised many still believe it wont matter either way and curious about the Reps thoughts.

Ha! Why am I not surprised. Sounds pretty typical - "If I don't win I'm taking my toys and playing elswhere"
Sun, to answer your question - I'm on the line about some of the issues as well as some of the candidate's stances on the issues. Therefore, if the one I vote for doesn't win, I'll stick it out, pay attention even more and then be even MORE informed when it comes time to vote again.
Yep. I'm moving to Canada or Australia if Mccain wins. ![]()

No need to move! We'll just juggle the borders.
I am going to urinate on people

Ditto, Sun.
I'm very sad that people are so caught up in the whole Palin is a female- thing. She's an extremist and an ignorant one at that. (just my opinion)

That's just about everyone's opinion and it infuriates me that it's assumed that I'm supposed to look down and see my vagina and think "oh she has one, too" then vote for McCain
The very thought of her fills me with rage, hatred and homicidal impulses.
None of you are going to move to Canada. Your going to go on with life if your pick does not win.
spiro, glad you're directing your ire against Sarah Palin instead of cyclists and yoga practitioners. (ducks out of the way)
I actually like yoga people just as long as they realize they're just doing yoga.
CYCLISTS UGH
In any event, denying global warming and sounding cavalier about war with nuclear Russia are worth righteous indignation. Sarah Palin is more dangerous than a pack of cyclists for sure.
If my candidate doesn't become President, I'll probably sulk a bit, whine a while, then work harder on local and state elections.
MOLLY
Wow, you have a lot of Palin pride going on...
I'm embarrassed for you.
I'm not ready to think about my candidate not becoming president. The current state of affairs is making me want to volunteer to make calls in swing states, even though I have a very busy work schedule.
If my candidate doesn't win I'll work hard on local and state elections and policies. And I'll worry a lot about the outcome of militaristic foreign policy, oil-centered energy policy, borrow and spend budgeting, lack of healthcare, reduction in reproductive freedom, lobby-driven crony capitalist corruption, decline in constitutional liberties, and more bad consequences I expect from an election won by the opponent.
I have to agree that if your response actually is anything besides "I'd move on, possibly get active in local politics." then you've got the wrong attitude.
Life moves on if my candidate doesn't become president, more or less as it has for the last 8 years when.. my candidate didn't become president.

Exactly. And really, how practical is just picking up and leaving for Canada, anyway? For me, it would be an emotional and logistical impossibility, even if there were the remote chance I would think about it.
Picking up and getting the heck out just means one less voter in support of one's causes, whatever they may be.
On edit: That being said, I would have serious concerns regarding the impact on the economy and foreign policy.

Ditto. You said it very well.
