Candy Cane Ice Cream Recipe
A delicious vanilla pudding made into ice cream. NOTE: The calorie counter did not recognize candy canes, so they are not included in the recipe, nor in the calorie count. I researched regular sized candy canes and they appear to be 45 calories each, so you will need to add 45x3 = 135 more calories to this recipe, and divide by 7 servings.
| 2 | egg yolks |
| 3 | T. flour |
| 1 | T. vanilla |
| 1/2 | c. honey |
| 3 | cups whole milk |
| 1/4 | t. salt |
- Put eggs yolks into a saucepan with vanilla and flour. Whisk until mixed thoroughly.
- Add honey, milk and salt. Whisk thoroughly.
- Heat over medium and stir constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Chill until very cold. While pudding is chilling, blend candy canes into a fine powder leaving a few bigger chunks.
- Place in ice cream maker (Donvier is my favorite) and pour blended candy canes on top.
- Mix until the ice cream thickens.
