Canned pumpkin

I have never tried it, but I want to so bad! I can't freakin find it at the grocery store. Where do they keep it? I looked everywhere!! :(

My store keeps it in the baking aisle with canned pie filling.  On the bottom shelf, no less. :)  Good luck!

In our walmart, it is by the canned fruit pie filling in the baking isle. I use it to make pumpkin bread mostly....but I should use it more in interesting ways I have seen here :)

It is normally in the baking isle near the sugar.  However, I have heard that due to weather conditions this year the canned pumpkin may be hard to find.  Walmart supercenter and Ingles have it here in TN.

There is actually a shortage of canned pumpkin in the US...it might be hard to find.

I have to get it from the organic section.  Or you can buy it in bulk from Amazon.com (12 cans to a case).  Crazy? yes, but they do have it.

I just bought some a few weeks ago and the shelves were full, so I think the shortage may be over.

ETA: My local grocery stores also have it in the baking goods aisle (with other pie fillings)

I had to go to 3 different stores before I found it at walmart.

As a few others mentioned, I saw it in my local Walmart store last week.

It's with the other canned veggies.  When you find it, don't just open the can and dig in - it tastes like crap until you add something sweet to it!   I LOVE pumpkin bread,  pie,  ice cream,  etc. etc.   WalMart should start putting it out with holiday baking stuff, too.

It is over now =) And Im SO HAPPY about it haha.

I've been wanting to try some of it too! I've been wanting to put it in some oatmeal in the mornings. All I can find at my local walmart right now is canned pumpkin pie. xD It has a lot of extra sugars and stuff that I don't need. But once I find it I can't wait to try it (:

My store keeps it by the pudding...don't ask me why. In every store I have ever been to, it has been on the bottom shelf. So look low the next time you go to the store...and ask someone who works there for help. :o)

 You're right, glam...I took a bite right out of the can and blech!!!

I warmed it up and added a bit of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to it, but I still prefer a good 'ol baked sweet potato to canned pumpkin (though I sure love the pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, etc.) :P

This seems overly obvious to me, but, why don't you just ask someone who works at the store where it is instead of wandering around aimlessly??

I use canned pumkin alot in both sweet and savory dishes. It's very versatile, but as glamgram says, you need to add other ingredients to it to make it taste good.  

Does anyone know how to make a similar thing at home? They don't sell canned pumpkin at all in South Africa and I'm really keen to try pumpkin pie/muffins...

Ya I was going to mention this too. There's a shortage right now. You should be able to find it in the baking isle tho, and I'd get it while you can. Holiday's are coming soon. Make sure you get the Libbys Pure Pumpkin and not the PIE filling. Just a heads up on that one :)

There is no more shortage! I contacted Nestle 2x... and they are restocking grocery stores around the US! They are back on the shelves at my store!!!

PS: I live on canned pumpkin - it rocks my life! ha ha!
