u have to learn to accept yourself and realize it's ok that you make mistakes! we have ALLL had those big binges... but it's just learning that you can get past them, you can change, and even if you have another one sometime, you WILL be ok, but u just have to love yourself for who you are! b/c you are SOO Much more than ur apperance.

sometimes i find it easier to think of myself as my best friend, and try to see myself how SHE sees me

That's so true.  I'm sure every single one of use trying to diet has binged.  I know I have many many times.  I know it's frustrating because you feel like you're working so hard and nothing is happening, and you feel like giving up.  The dieter's version of giving up is binging.  What you have to do is just calm down, regroup, and realize that tomorrow is a new day.  Whenever I get frustrated with dieting, I think that to myself.  Try saying it out loud a few times.  "Tomorrow is a new day".  I hope this helps you!

hey, i just did the same thing, and it was my second day in a row. prior to that, i had been doing so well, so i don't know what has gotten into me lately. i feel so unbelievably gross right now and i knew i would regret but that didn't stop me from stuffing my face :S Anyways, as I said yesterday, tomorrow will be a new day and I will try my best to beat this. I don't have anything ingenious to tell you, but just know that you aren't alone.

p.s. i checked out your profile and we seem quite similar-both born in 88 and i'm studying psychology as well (currently going into my third year). feel free to msg me if you ever need any support!

Know that everyone on this site and anyone that has dieted or tried to eat healthy has gone through the same thing you are. Male, Female, short, tall, old or young - we are all human and will make human mistakes. What sets us apart is the ability to rationalize this error and correct it or making sure you try to eliminate the possibility of it happening again.

Just don't duplicate it tomorrow and know that you will getter better/stronger with time.

Good luck!!!

We've all been there. Just remember the terrible feeling you have right now; try to remember it the next time a meal or a few dozen snacks tempt you. I remember ordering this great meal from Coco's after working out and then feeling horrible after. I told myself to remember that feeling--the feeling of being overfull and guilty. The next time I went, I was tempted by the same meal, but I remembered it. It helped a lot.

A few things that lead me to binge: 1) Letting myself get hungry. Solution- I make sure to eat meals that satisfy me and have healthy snacks BEFORE I get hungry again. 2) Having bad snacks around in the house. You may not have a similar living situation, but maybe talk to your family or roommates about your diet plan. Have them hide their snacks away. I do the grocery shopping for my household, and my rule is that we just don't buy snack foods (chips, etc.). 3) Being too strict. Sometimes you have to relax your eating standards and give yourself a treat. If I don't eat the best choices, I always make sure I exercise a little extra (not to the point of over training) to make up for it.

Finally, a bit of advice I read from some forum on this site: DO NOT FEEL GUILTY. That feeling will not help you. It will defeat you. Look to the future and know you will do better. Know that it took many months of eating badly to get to this point and ONE BAD BINGE is not going to matter in the long run. Just don't do it tomorrow.
