I CANT BELIEVE I USED TO EAT THAT moment?!
I have been having them left and right, and i was wondering what foods any of you guys have just sat staring at in complete disbeleif that you used to eat it all the time?.. im not talking about the occasional 'oh i ate that once' thing... for instance... when i didnt have a care in the world what i put in my body.. i used to eat ramen noodles chicken flavor..literally 1-3 times a day .. and those were just snacks.. I see my bf eat them now and im like how did i not realize those were soooo bad for me?.. thats one of my major instances i have.. another one would have to be tortilla chips with nacho cheese and salsa..me and my bf would sit and watch movies about every other night and kill almost an entire bag when we first starting dating..i cant even imagine why i would do that..obviously it taste great but damn. and lastly wawa or quickcheck subs.. ( yes there are healthier ones, which needless to say im not talking about) breaded chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, ranch dressing, let, tom, yellow peppers all on a big round roll.. most of the times with a soda and bag of chips..
well leave out that pizza hut was one of my favorite places

ok im amazed at how i have been able to transform what i put in my body from the above diet to a healthy more balaced diet.. took me a while to get through the "find the correct way to eat" phase but im finally there..and i cant see how i will ever let myself get to that point again.

I had that moment at Taco Bell the other night. It used to be favorite place to eat and I'd always get two bean burritos and pintos and cheese. I have no idea how I could eat so many beans in one sitting. Plus, add in the cheese and preservatives and what have you.
And Brownies. They used to be my poison. I actually ate half a pan of them in about an hour once. I felt like crying afterwards. Those were the worst of my bingeing days.
This happens to me every time I go somewhere with my sister. She is sixteen, and eats TERRIBLE things. One day she asked me to bring her lunch, and since I am a nice sister and my boss wasn't here and I could take a long lunch break I said okay. You know what she asked for? A big mac, medium fries, and a large sweet tea!!! AHHHH I use to do that- however I didn't eat a big mac, just a double cheeseburger but STILL. yuck.
Oh boy...I have a ton of the "I can't believe I use to eat that" things.
I use to eat and entire box of cinnamon and brown sugar poptarts everyday for breakfast.
About 3 times a week I would eat an ENTIRE Tony's frozen pepporoni pizza for dinner.
For about 7 months straight I ate a box of Kraft mac and cheese and 8 pillsbury cresants for dinner.
When I lived in Alaska....I use to eat 3 cheesy gordita crunches and 3 hard shell tacos's with extra cheese from Taco Bell...for lunch, almost every single day!
I think this list could seriously go on and on...but now I'm just in shock at how unhealthy I use to eat...and I didn't even weigh nearly what i weigh now! It's NOT FAIR!!!

Well for me maybe not so much "what" I ate but "how much." Our meals consisted mostly of fast food and pizza, which is odd because my mom was always watching her calories, but for the kids it was junk food, fast food, pizza. We'd get breakfast on our way to school from Burger King, lunch at school, dinner was a "humongous (that was the real name) pizza with EVERYTHING and I'd have maybe 5 slices....umm a whopper meal (the burger, fries, and I'd get maybe a chicken sandwich) I remember how I used to eat and jeez! I'm so happy I weened myself off of that crap, haven't had a real fast food meal in 4 years.

For the most part, I eat the same things as I used to, but in smaller portions and less often. Or in some cases, healthier versions.
So I eat pizza, but a homemade version that's healthier than takeout (and loads cheaper).
I might have the same sandwich from Subway, but don't get a footlong anymore.
Taco Bell might have been a grilled stuffed burrito AND nacho chips AND a quesadilla. Now it's just the burrito - and it'll be my dinner, as opposed to having it at midnight after already having dinner and drinking. And only once every 6 months, as opposed to 1-2/month.
Spring through summer of 2007 I ate Chipotle at least 3 times a week if not more. The calories and the cost per burrito builds up quickly!
Also when I served at Applbee's I normally would get spinach dip or queso dip as my dinner and normally eat most of myself. And now I haven't food in 8 months well actually once in 8 months, which is still good in my book!
Also my favorite things to get at Friday's used to be an order of mozzarella sticks with BBQ sauce and a mudslide. They put chocolate chips and all kinds of bad for you things in their mudslides!
2 years ago when my boyfriend and I first stated dating we'd go out to eat all the time. I did not make the best decisions when we'd go out and that made me gain the most weight I had gained ever. We'd get appetizers and deserts and all that gross stuff. Now I know what to order, and that it is okay not finish your plate lol
I used to order fried "chicken nuggets" from the Chinese place a few blocks away just as an afterschool snack! or sometimes I'd get french fries. When my mom would make Hamburger Helper or pasta I'd fill a WHOLE large-sized dinner plate to the edge (and the pasta was always covered with sauce and parmesan cheese). McDonald's constantly. I ate Cheesy Gordita Crunches from Taco Bell as well, with the "fiesta potatoes" or whatever on the side. I'm actually surprised I wasn't much bigger!
but the one biggest "shocks" for me was how much soda I used to drink, especially with fast food. now just taking a few sips with nothing else makes me feel full and bloated from the carbonation. I can't even imagine drinking as much as I used to. (I actually prefer flat soda now, haha weird).
Geez, what DIDN'T I used to eat????
McDonalds: for many reasons I stopped eating there (mostly for sanitary and animal cruelty reasons) I haven't eatin one of their products in almost a year, but when I would....FRIES obviously! Man they are good, but the worst is their salads. Can someone please expain the concept of an unhealthy salad??? Their salads, along with all the other ff chains are mostly awful.
I used to drink "coca cola" like it was going out of style. Now when I DRINK something with calories I ask myself if the quick consumption of calories is really worth it.
Chips and Salsa everynight in College. Thought process: "hey salsa is low cal".
Ice Cream for breakfast...I still enjoy small portions for dessert.
The biggest one: MASHED POTATOES. I could have eatin an entire giant bowl to myself in one night...the best ever.
Frozen Pizza. Whole. To myself. In one sitting.
I cant believe I used to eat Fast Food....burgers and fries washed down with a diet soda. I wouldnt dream of putting that garbage near my body now. The thought of all that fat makes me literally sick to my stomach and yet, I used to eat it. Funny how we change over time.
There's this resturaunt/ bar in my town that EVERYONE goes to all the time to watch sports and just hang out. My husband and his coaching buddies would go there like 3 or 4 times a week and I'd usually go and hang out too. They have this thing there called the Zinger Mountain Melt which is a giant plate of loaded french fries with chicken fingers on top. My husband and I would share one all the time. Now I go to this place and feel queasy just thinking about eating that!
Also, I would eat fast food and biggie/super/king size my food all the time. Sometimes I ate fast food twice a day.
Drumsticks (the ice cream). I used to buy the family pack and eat two or three a day until the box was gone.
Living in Texas I would have to say Mexican food. Platters of enchiladas smothered in cheese with rice and refried beans on the side. Not to mention the nachos and sour cream and guacamole (still eat a tiny bit of guac).
Now I only eat the fajita meat and sub veggies for the rice and beans.
Same here with the soda. I could drink as much as 2 cans of Pepsi a day. Now I don't drink as much, and if I do, I tend to overly dilute it.
I used to be the worst eater!!!!! when i went to university i put on 20 pounds in 2 years going from 120-140! i'm now down to 110 and have been maintaining for almost a year.....
whenever i used to eat badly i'd use the dumbest excuses like "well the more i eat the faster my metabolism will be"...like what was i thinking? now when i'm running everyday and exercising twice as much i can't even imagine putting the crap into my body that i used to....
after every time id go to the bar id eat 2 peices of greasy pizza or something equivelant then the next morning there was a diner down the street from our house we would go to at least once a week that we would eat at for breakfast with hashbrowns toast eggs etc......i would bake brownies at least twice a week....and bake muffins.....i would drink at least 3 times a week...it was disqusting!!! the worst was the frenchfries...i'd always have french fries!
now i actually get sick if i eat portions that big.....food has turned from something that i ate for comfort into something that powers my body....when i eat a huge plate of french fries i physically feel sick and i don't have the energy to run 7miles. i can't believe the crap i used to eat! i'm so much happier now!
loads of chocolate ice cream with loads of peanut butter. spoon half ice cream half PB... oh.. my.. god.. HEAVEN. oh wait, i still eat this! haha.. could be why i haven't lost in a while.. :)
Ooooh! Ooooh! Ooooh! How I got to be 400 pounds......
There use to be a Hardee's on my way to work when I had a 45 minute commute. Every morning, five days a week, I'd pull into the drive-thru and order 1 Frisco Breakfast Sandwich (420 cal), 2 cinnamon raisin biscuits (560 cal), hash browns (200+ cal), and OJ (150 cal), for a whopping total of 1,330 calories before 8 a.m.!!! And get this, if someone had brought donuts into work that morning, I'd usually end up eating at least two!!!
I think in the past three years I've only stopped at a fast food joint maybe five times; and that was for a sugar-free drink or a naked salad!
Ah, there's so many.
A few that come to mind....Basically in my teen years whenever my family and I went out to eat at a restaurant I would always get fried breaded shrimp and Onion rings (big portion of both.) A few times I even got mozzarella sticks along with them!![]()
I would have ice cream, but get a huge bowl and fill that baby up. If I had vanilla ice cream I would take A LOT of cocktail peanuts and just drowned my ice cream with them. If I ran out of peanuts before finishing my ice cream another handful would go in it.
Cereal....I would eat like 6 bowls in a sitting.
I would slather my sandwiches with Peanut Butter.
One time I ate a whole entire pizza (Heh, maybe more then once.) One time I got a party pizza size and ate half of it.
I once had some peanut butter ice cream and to add more I got those mini reese's peanut butter cups and must have thrown more then a handful into the bowl.
I've eaten whole bags of pretzels.
Almost all the snacks in a little Debbie box.
There's just so many and these were all done before my *binge* days.
from WAY back... BK used to have 99 cent whoppers (not whopper Jr - WHOPPERS) and i used to eat 2 per day.
from 2007-2008, for ten months, i had a FT job at a tobacco shop/newsstand/quickie mart-type place ... i ate hot fudge or s'mores poptarts every single day for breakfast. some days? i also ate a giant muffin. you know... probably 900 calories on its own. i also had unlimited free coffee, and we had flavored creamers, flavored syrups, and half-and-half. i can only imagine how many calories i drank.
i ate pizza at least twice per week. i ate at least one candy bar (whatchamacallit, milky way dark, skor, kitkat, reese's PB cups, or baby ruth) every day.
a small pack of cheddar cheese pretzel combos most days.
and almost every single night, i ate a spicy chicken crunchwrap supreme from taco bell.
when i started dating my boyfriend, we ate at BK a lot. whopper jrs and fries. we also used to split frozen pizzas on a regular basis. i would literally eat half.
this is seriously grossing me out! i still eat a small amount of junk food every week, but my gosh, i shudder to think what a food journal from last year at this time would have looked like. i guess if it wasn't loaded with grease, fat, or sugar, i was having no part of it. i wasn't even trying.
