I know the title of this topic sounds idiotic, but for a college student, it's kind of a concern. Every Friday (usually Saturday too) people at my house drink. They always drink and get pretty drunk. Not everyone gets totally drunk, but about half do. It's not like a party or anything, just a friendly gathering. It sucks though because I usually can only save up for about two LIGHT beers. This allows me to get by without people asking why I'm not drinking (I drink them pretty slowly) but, inevitable, I can't get drunk and have the stupid fun that everyone else is having. I guess when you're watching your intake, there's no way around it. You can't get drunk. At least no hangovers are nice.

Hmm, I know! I'm going out tonight, going to order Captain Morgan Spiced Rum with diet coke. It's 120 calories. I will probably have 4 of them too. I have been prepping for the night by eating lots of lo cal stuff to work in 500 calories for drinking tonight!

Wine, also another option. 85-100 calories per glass depending on the wine. I drink Vendage or Sutter home white zinfandel. 85-90 cals.

Also, beer options, the new MGD64 has 64 calories. Or Michelob Ultra is 95 calories. Buy yourself a sixer of one of those for your parties. Drink more! Tongue out

Couldn't you treat yourself one night a week? Or even one night every other week if you feel one night a week is too much?

I'm a college student who is pretty calorie conscious and I'm always able to drink to a nice drunk state about once a week. It hasn't messed with my weight at all.

I second the Captain Morgan and diet coke! My absolute favorite!

honestly, I was pretty worried about that too. Unfortunately I go to a pretty dry campus =/ but when I do go to parties, I just ignore the calories and have fun! Maybe going all out every week might not be the best idea, but a little extra isn't going to ruin the rest of your week at all. Have fun, get drunk!

You don't have to never get drunk again just to lose weight! Trust me, I definitely kept alcohol in my diet and still managed to lose weight! Maybe just twice a month you can go all out when people are at your place and then limit yourself hte other times. But it's definitely going to be nice to avoid the hangovers if you drink a smaller amount. Enjoy your time at college! What good is being thin i fyou can't have fun???

Ugh...I hate it I have the same problem. I could save calories for drinks night...but its never good for me when I drink on an empty stomach. I don't know, maybe I shouldn't drink, its bad for you anyway.

i guess im w everyone else, enjoy yourself at least once in a while.

its not like its every day and shouldnt throw you off too much if you're good the rest of the time.

i'd say try to cut back & save/account for alcohol cals as much as you can on nights you wna party.

dont NOT eat, just be super choosy.

i worry abt that too esp since im turnin 21 in a month....

That's my fav drink too, and some good news for you.....it only has 60 cals per ounce, not 120!  So you can have twice what you planned!  Unless you were planning on doubles, lol.

And all the other health benefits from not being a heavy drinker. Given the choice between being 'luscious' or a 'a lush' I think the self-control will pay off in more ways than one

 Ha. That's good. I had 5! (And they made me down 2 shooters too---ugh!) Those were probably not so good for me, they had pineapple juice in them though! Heehee.
