i cant find soy cheese! i love cheese :)

i went to a few grocery stores with my parents on the weekend (they like to go to a couple different ones when they do groceries, some items are cheaper at other stores) and in zero of the 3 stores we hit did I find soy cheese. I love it (i think? lol).

See... I love cheeseburgers. A lot. A while ago I bought some of those chuckwagon burgers (the pre-made and packaged burgers that you find in small corner stores or gas stations sometimes) I know they're as healthy as a steamy pile of crud and the "meat" has barely any animal, but the cheese was sooooo tastey.

I bought so many of those burgers just because of the cheese. I read on the ingredients that it includes "processed meat" obviously for the meat and "processed soy" which is what im assuming is used for the cheese. My question is, where can I find this kind of soy cheese? is it soy cheese in general that is this delicious or just ultra-processed soy cheese they use in pre-made burgers? i dont care even if its unhealthy, it was just so dam good. yummy yummy cheese.

You might also try the cold storage areas in the veggie dept of a regular supermarker... around where they have the cold salad dressings and health drinks.  It's never in with the regular cheese in my markets.

Also, I find that higher end markets like Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Wegmans have a better selection of healthier foods, at least in my area of the country.  And sometimes the selection in the 'burbs is much more varied than in the City, again that might depend where you live.  I travel to the "high-class" burbs if I can't find something in my neighborhood.  Buyers seem to think rich folks want to eat healthier I guess!

i think i like it better than real cheese now! i get galaxy brand provolone or pepper jack!
How does the nutritional value of soy cheese compare to regular cheese?

Depending on what kind you get, it averages at about 35 calories a slice. Its about the same as a slice of fat-free cow cheese.
