The best advice I can give is... Find something or someONE that will inspire you to stop. Alot that I've seen people use are (1) Being able to play with your children (2) Being healthy! (3) Fitting into that sexy swimsuit
My personal motivater to 'stop eating everything in sight' is my mom. I remember growing up and loving my mom to death, and always wanting to be just like her. My mom was also quite overweight and I remember begging her to go to the pool or go outside and play. She couldn't do it - I don't want to be afraid to go out in a skirt or swimsuit. I want to live life to the fullest!!
You CAN say NO and you'll find a way. :) -hope I helped-
I'm a bit like you. I don't keep any junk in my house because I'd eat it if it were here. I was just telling my friend who had eaten 7 granola bars one night that they are like crack - candy bars masquerading as healthy snacks. Everything in my house needs to be made, if I'm desperate there is jam but that's really the only ready-made thing.
That said, I work in an office where there are always cakes for people's birthdays and leftover food from lunch meetings. I keep a few healthy snacks in my office and when I see the cake I eat a pudding. When I know I have a meeting where there will be lunch I ask the person who is ordering if we can have something healthy. In fact, on Friday when they ordered pizza they got a veggie one as well, which was my request. I had one slice and brought a salad with me, no one said a word.
It's really about forming a new habit. Every time I turn down the birthday cheesecake I go back to my office feeling a bit more proud of myself. People will try to get you to eat some and I will say 'no thanks I just ate lunch' or "I don't really like cake' or 'I think processed meat on pizza is gross' :) After a while people will stop expecting you to eat it and you will find it easier to say no.
