Why can't I hold it together on the weekends??

During the week I am fine.  Keep it around 1400 calories a day.  On the weekends I eat about 4000 calories a day.  So when I get on the scale on Monday I'm at the same weight as the previous week.   I'm getting nowhere.   It's not that I'm starving either.  It's just a social thing.  Like tonight I went out to eat with my family.   It's horrible.    I'm going to be fat forever.

i do the same thing many weeks. Partly it's just a habit. Try changing your routine on the weekends a little. Get up at the same time as on the week days, eat the same breakfast and plan an activity that doesn't involve food. Or plan what you are going to order at the restaurant before you get there to help ward off over-indulgence.

Get out of the house. Plan some activities that take time. It's easy to get into graze mode when your home and bored.

I am extactly the same. this weekend was just horrible for me. i dont even want to weigh myself tomorrow moning cuz i fear i gained like five pounds. Even after getting out of the 160s for the first time in a year i totally sabatoged that this weekend. i feel really bad and guilty as i write this.

There is no solution except will power. You have to make up your mind not to eat too much and just do it. I like to eat a little different on the weekend. Allow myself a little more freedom and eat some foods I don't let myself normally have. What I do is eat a normal breakfast, add 10-20 extra minutes to my workout and skip lunch and eat an early dinner.

I have experience the exact same phenomenon for the past three weeks.  But, I finally broke down and told my boyfriend, my family that I couldn't be the glutton they'd always known and loved anymore.  Instead of offering me second helpings, my family knows to offer another glass of water, or offer me something low-cal.  Also, I've been very diligent in keeping my long-haul workouts for the weekend, that way, I don't totally feel guilty, because I know I've earned it.  And, I make a choice: alcohol or food treats.  I won't go out for a big dinner if I know I'm having a glass of wine or a pint of beer.  So, if I go out for drinks on Friday night, I make sure I eat less during the day and include those drinks in my calorie count.
