How many cals are you eating. If you go to low your body holds onto everything to survive.

I'm experiencing the same thing!!! I am stuck at that last inch!! It's very frustrating- I eat healthly, cook all my own foods....

What kind of excercise are you doing? Perhaps if it is weight oriantated you are gaining muscle...which is a good thing as keep it up and you will look toned and superb! Muscle weighs 4 times more than fat remember!

I am Vegetarian and I cycle to and from work every day (about 45 mins in total)...I also cycle anyway where else I need to go.

I KNOW that crash dieting etc doesn't work so refuse to do anything drastic...I spent my teenage years with my fingers down my throat with yo-yo weight that was always bigger than I am now. Now at the age of 24 I am closer to the size I want to be and eat regulary and healthly. I occasionally cheat and have a treat as anyone who has suffered an eating disorder knows that it is the only way not to let food totally rule  their life. oh and also I love food and cooking!!

I'm not a vegan but don't drink milk or eat eggs and try to cook and eat vegan often and am wondering if it my is my carb intake that are stopping me lose this last bit. I do eat everything wholemeal though and giving (or cutting down) up carbs is soooo hard when you're a veggie/vegan....and have a hungry otherhalf to feed!

What I am trying now is this eating at regular intervals.....So breakfast at around 7.30am then fruit at 11am. Then Lunch at around 1.30-2pm then a handful of nuts or seeds at around 5pm. Then home and dinner at around 8pm. I try not to snack when I'm preparing dinner but quite often do! Normally though it is on Rivitas and hommous (low fat), olives....or Marmite (I eat LOADS of marmite....maybe that's the culprit!!)

Aparently this is supposed to increase your metabolism....

Has anyone else tried this?

Or anyother ideas that aren't complete starvation like to get rid of this last inch???? pllleeaassee before christmas (as I will no doubt put it back then! But it would be nicer to have to lose an inch rather 3!) I have just started calorie count also as I think that keeping track of what I am eating means I might notice the extra bits of munch that I am conveniently forgetting!

I know how your feeling.  I was at that stage for a long time.  I finally broke down and got a personal trainer.

It's also worth noting that I too am vegetarian, and my biggest problem was eating too many carbs and not enough protein!  I used to eat around 30-40g of protein and now I'm up to 90 ish.  It's helped curb my appetite and I'm loosing about a tenth of a pound everyday.  It' sounds slow, but I'm not overweight to begin with.  I am just at the higher end of my weight range.

But I have learned to be more aware of the carbs I'm taking in.  Like, reducing the amount of bread, rice, pasta, and eating more lean protein.  Things like the Morningstar and Boca products, soy protein powder, egg whites, tofu, seitan, peanut butter, etc.

If you're vegetarian, it's going to be harder to balance yuor meals, I know.  If you want to loose the weight faster, you jsut gotta cut the carbs, not completely, but balance your diet more.  You will probably find yourself being grouchy because of it too, I know I did! lol.

Here's a sample of a meal I would typically eat for lunch or dinner:

3 oz. lean protein
1 c. non starchy vegetables
1 fruit
if I'm still hungry, a 1/2 c. of yogurt or LF dairy (watch the carbs in those yogurts though! some have a lot of sugar)

Well, I hope this was helpful.

I also had bulimia in high-school, and finally overcame it at 20 yrs old. I started at 16, and it ruined my teenage years. The very sad, but motivational, thing to find out after you stop is that you do lose ten times more weight eating, than you ever did stuck in the self destructive habit.  I eat very healthy now, and I have never looked better. I agree that the last couple pounds are the hardest to lose, and I don't see any other way than to minimize more calories to lose it. I guess I could amp up my work out routine, but I have a 10 month old and not a lot of time. I'm so tired of worrying about food.   I hope heaven has an all you can eat buffet, and food doesn't stick to my backside.Wink
