This can't be possible right?!
Okay 1 and a half weeks ago i visited my aunt, and she fed me LOADS. I was 105 then. Then i continued to eat a lot the following 5 days. Then i got back on track. Two days ago i was up to 108, which is okay. Yesterday we had a BBQ and i ate saltyish foods. Then today i ate great, went running and then came home and ate dinner. I had pasta and then i had(honestly) a CRAP load of ice cream. Like a pint :/
I weighed myself and it said 113
this isn't accurate am i correct? how long should it take for me to migrate back down to 108?
AND i have vacation at the beach in two weeks. and fattyness+bikinis+hot guys= ew me. :p
help?
unless your scale is broken, its probably accurate babe.
Is is uncommon for you to usually eat the large amount of food you consumed in those days? Were you active in those recent days or sedentary? I can think of a few reasons your weight has increased
1. your scale is broken
2. itcould possibly be water weight if it's your time of the month.
3. Drastically increasing the amount of carbs ( not that carbs are bad for you whatsoever) you eat in a short period of time can cause your body to hold onto more water than it usually does, resulting in an increase in weight
4. have you been doing weight training or anything of that sort? Anything that builds muscle? If so you really shouldnt worry, because the weight gain could possible be from muscle, which weighs more than fat. If you haven't noticed your body actually showing more fat, then it might also be muscle
5. Hormones. We're girls, therfore we have some evil curse upon us, and our weight will always fluctuate from day to day.
6. your young and still growing ( i think). It could be increase in bone density, or once again, those evil hormones
Its important to stick to a healthy eating regimin without going overboard on portion sizes EVERY DAY. idk if these eating habits are common for you, but its important to make an effort not to have binge weeks so you can get your body in the habit of taking in food the right way
Actually no, I'm usually pretty good with sticking to my calorie range. I have been eating a lot of carbs, which is a tad unusual for me. No i dont have my period, i haven't gotten it for about a year :/ ED's and all suck.
I have noticed though I'll step on my scale(its a dial spring one) and it will be say oh 107, and then i'll get off then on again, and it will be like 111.
Odd huh? might just be the damn scale >:/
-sigh-
That being said, my guess is water/food weight. Especially if you ate salty foods...I bet you body is just retaining water and hasn't gotten rid of all the food you ate yet. I would say keep eating like you normally do, maybe eat lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, and water to help clean your system out, and just wait a couple of days. You should start to see the scale go down soon. =]
If you are going to be obsessed about a number vs what you look like, get an accurate digital scale.
haha yeah sounds like it might be the scale. i hate those old spring one, they never tell me what i wanna see. lol
If two days ago you weighed 108, there is no way you're weighing 113 now. Even with a whole gallon of ice cream, that's incredibly unlikely. 5lbs in 2 days? I'd put your real weight somewhere around 110lbs.
You've eaten a lot of salty foods which means a lot of water retention. Are you weighing yourself consistently at the same time every day? People fluctuate about 5lbs depending on when they weigh. The best time to record your weight is first thing in the morning, before you eat or drink anything and after you go to the bathroom - that is the most normal your body will consistently be from day to day. If I weigh in the morning, I'm usually 129.0 or 129.5. At night, I'm 131.0 or 131.5. If you weighed yourself right after dinner and ice cream, even with running, it will look like a gain, when its really a fluctuation.
Ok, so you've been eating bad for a few days. You can lose back down to 107 probably in 2 weeks if you really work hard for it! Just don't let yourself over eat. Measure your portions, stick to a 500 cal/day defecit plus exercise if you can! (Never over 1000cal on the defecit though.) Just make the decision to be really good and to make yourself eat right. You'll be bathing-suit ready in no time :)
Good luck!!
*EDIT*
Btw, if you drink sodas at all, cutting them out will help you drop about 2-5lbs in about 2 weeks. I just did it myself... even though all I drank was diet, I think its curbed my craving for other sweets :)
cstefan: i want one, but all the ones i see are wayyy expensive
mercy: ha yeah, i've had a few spring ones and they all seem to do that
hharris: i actually do run everyday so it shouldnt be to hard, and I've been soda-free for two months! it was a big thing for me
You pigged out, what do you expect. Get over it and next time remember how you feel right now. No one forces you to eat loads, you can only blame yourself.

Unless she ate about 17,500 extra calories in those two days, most of it is NOT real weight.
Lois, she's trying to find a way to minimize the damage and to fix the situation. There's no need to be so heated about it.
When I eat salty foods, it changes my weight by as much as 10 pounds. Salty food increases your water retention. For me, my weight goes back to normal within a week.
i had a doctor's app. today and i asked him to weigh me, and i currently weigh 107.5 :)
getting a new scale for sure!
your scale was saying (accurately enough) how much the food you ate weighed. i would give it at least a day or two to let bloating from salt go down and have your body digest the food.
im guessing the doctors was accurate but your scale is fine too.
omg! i have been having the same exact problems! except i honestly cant figure out if i have actually gained or not... im hoping no, i have been getting weighed weekly at the drs and it goes between 108 and 112.5! a big variation depending on the time of day, i get so mad, because when its higher they are like good job good job, and im like honestly i doubt its a gain, but do you think it is? i recently took the plunge and uped my calories, cuz i need to eat more, and my metabolizm was like dead, i think its getting better, but i have also realized that i gain even more during the day SOMETIMES 113! but then the morning im less, but its like ick its so stressful, i also do not have a scale so i have to use other ppls hahaso i cant do the same time daily
hello. this stuff happens. i have "gained" 7 lbs in about 3 days even when i ate several hundreds, not thousand extra... it is fluctuations. the trend is what matters
Well I would recomend drinking a lot of water to flush out the sodium. You see when you eat salty foods the sodium retains water in your body and a regular bottle of water weight just over a pound a bottle. Also when you take in a bunch of carbs they do the same thing by bonding and retaining water and when you excercise and you feel the burn you are tearing muscles that have to be repaired and that retains water as well. Basically eat well this week and keep checking your weight but don't get compulsve. You could be retaining a lot of water. Stay away from salty foods or snacking.
