Captain Kirk for Canada's next Prime Minister.

It seems that a fan sent William Shatner a letter asking him to be our next Governor General and he wrote back stating that he din't want that job, he wanted to be our next Prime Minister.

What kind of PM would he make?
Wouldn't it be fun to see him use the transporter to get himself from place to place instead of having to use a car or a plane?

Montreal-born William Shatner says he wants to be prime minister of Canada, the New Zealand newspaper Web site Stuff.co.nz reported.

Forget New Zealand's website reporting this - Shatner reported this himself. Shat fans are spoiled: LINK, Spockies have to travel to hear from Leonard.

Granted there ... would  likely be some ... overdramatic speeches ... delivered as well as some womanizing scandals but without his first officer, Shat would be reason to be concerned for Canada's future.  

I think that... Captain Kirk would ...   ...   ... bring much greater exposure to... that great land...  of the North.

In all seriousness - I wouldn't vote for him just because he was Captain Kirk - not unless he has the rest of the crew to help him.  ;-)

And Spoiled - you should fix the first line of your post - the fan asked him to be GG - it sounds like Shatner doesn't know that PM stands for Prime minister.

i don't watch that show, but when asked, Shatner said he would have voted for Obama (when it was a 3-way race)

Well, if I were Canadian, I think I'd vote for him in hopes that his inauguration speech would be a reprise of that bit on Saturday Night Live where he yells at all the Trekkies "Move out of your parents basement and get a life!"
