Help! So i think i gain weight cause i eat too many carbs. I never noticed it before but i looked and it said i ate 70% carbs already! However i don't know what to eat! This a.m. i ate 2 ww french toast and then for a snack today i had rice cereal. So that's enough carbs for the day i guess. I am eating tuna right now and i know that is protein but what else can i eat that is protein besides chicken, steak, etc. Besides meat basically?

Lots of lovely things.... Pulses... beans, lentils, chickpeas...(there's a big selection around these days)... eggs... tofu... quorn.... quinoa..... nuts... seeds....

Serve 4-5oz of cooked pulses, quinoa, tofu or quorn as 'portion', or 2 large eggs or 1oz nuts/seeds.

Try nuts! All kinds. Healthy fat and some protein, no carbs!

The highest protein non-meat foods I can think of are cheese, eggs and soy protein. Liquid milk contains some protein, but it comes along with lots of carbs in the form of lactose - making it in to yogurt converts a lot of the lactose to lactic acid, so it is technically not a carb anymore. Most of the unprocessed protein-containing vegetable sources mentioned contain either a lot of carbs (beans and peas) or a lot of fat (nuts and soybeans).

Thanks! I thought quinoa was a good carb..i like it a lot. I need to get some. I almost forgot about nuts! I will go eat some right now and an apple :)

what about vegetables -- yes they have some carbs, but they are good for you in terms of vitamins, nutrients, & fiber -- many you can eat a lot but not that many calories -- any kind of lettuce, celery, carrots, eggplant, radishes, mushrooms, spinach, etc. And how about fruit?  Low carb fruits include most berries.
