The Daily recommended intake of carbs is 130g/day. My food analysis has me at 193g/day. My carbs are coming from Fruit and oatmeal mainly. And chicken soup. How can I cut these carbs or do I even need to?
don't forget that the third word in your post is "recommended", everyone eats a little differently.
that being said do you eat many veggies? i frequently snack on veggies (baby carrots, yum!) like many people snack on fruits. i find them very filling and they generally have less "carbs".
what's in your soup that is so carby?
also since what you've mentioned seems to be more complex carbs if i were you i wouldn't worry about it too much. maybe keep an eye on it the next week or so and see if some days are lower so that it averages out.
what is your fats/proteins/carbs ratio?
I eat the Progresso Light classic chicken noodle and chicken w/ rice.
Fat - 13.3% (20 grams)
Protein - 30.1% (103 grams)
Carbohydrates - 56.6% (193 grams)
Other then it being a bit high on protein side and low on Fat side, it looks ok to me. That being said, only 1300 calories a day? Seems on a low side.

I personally take in over 330 carbs a day (average)...I think carbs get a bad rap...the carbs (my opinion) arent the issue its how we utilize and burn what we take in...so if you are asking ME your carb level is fine...your caloric intake seems a tad low as mentioned earlier by another member. BTW with my carb intake I continually manage my weight and have kept it the same for about 18 months.
Why is 1300 so low? I'm 5' 10" 195lbs. I need to drop some weight. I will slowly add calories as the weight comes off to maintain. Thanks for all the replies!

recommended by who and for who?
Not sure why you want to drop your weight or what the rush is however, try the tool at http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/calories-goa l.php please keep in mind 3500 calories equals 1 lb so to loose 1 lb a week it will take a deficit of 3500 calories a week or 500 calories a day.
