Carbs, Protein & Fat
Today so far, I have used up all my carb, protein and fat grams but I'm about 300 calories short of my minimum. Is it okay since to eat 300 more calories, even though I will most likely go over my grams of carbs, protein and fat? I though eating over your carb, fat and protein (having them to excess) makes you gain weight?
No, eating over your calorie limit everyday will make you gain weight.
Going outside your recommended macronutrient ranges or limits will not cause you to gain weight. Eating more than you burn will. And don't even worry about things daily...you would have to eat 500 extra calories above what you burned in a week to gain a pound of fat. You should definitely eat the 300 to get to your minimum. Otherwise your body might resort to breaking down lean tissue for metabolic processes rather than fat.
How have you used up all your macro's, but under on your calories?
That doesn't make sense, since each one contributes to your intake.
Eating excess carb, fat, and/or protein won't make you gain weight. BUT... eating all 3 in excess will put you over your calorie requirement, which over time will make you gain weight. Do you see what I'm saying?
I don't know what time it is for you there, but if you're only short 300 calories, you're not feeling hungry, and it's late, I say don't worry about it. Have a bigger breakfast or an extra snack tomorrow and call it even. I don't believe in stuffing yourself when you're not hungry.
I think it's also more important to stay within percentages when focusing on macro's, rather than grams. If you're aiming for 20% fat and eat 1,600 calories, that's 35g of fat. If you eat 1,900 and stay at 35g, that's only 16.5%.

This doesn't make sense to me. Calories themselves come from your macronutrients (4 cals per gram of protein/carb and 9 cals per gram of fat). Unless you've consumed a lot of alcohol (7 cals per gram), this doesn't add up.
Is this not counting the fiber, perhaps? Still, 75 grams of fiber a day sounds like a lot.
Yeah, that is a lot of fiber. But I don't get that much...I get a good amount though. And I don't count it.
Yeah, maybe I overcalculated. I'm still not sure. I'm not going to bother counting macros anymore. I was becoming obsessed, going crazy.. :P
Yeah, I started counting macros, but not anymore. Its so hard for me to not eat excess carbs. I'm allergic to a good amount of foods, and I don't have time to cook much, so I eat about 2 bowls of cereal a day, wheat crackers, and fruit. The only meat I eat is for dinner, and I tried implementing more protein in my diet with yogurt, since I can't eat beans or nuts.
Thanks...Yeah, I did eat the extra 500, just went to bed way later. And I ate when I felt hungry again. But I ate because if not I might of overate the next day.

Try greek yogurt! And fiber is counted as carbohydrates.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I have a few coupons for Stoneyfield Greek Yogurt, and was thinking of buying some. Maybe today I'll stop by and get some.
...Didn't know fiber is counted as a carbohydrate. Good to know. :D
