"Cardio" or "Fatburn" to lose the most weight?

Quote  |  Reply
It doesn't make sense that an easier thing like the "fatburn" setting would be better for someone trying to shed pounds, but it MUST be called that for a reason. Should I just stop running and do the fatburn on the bike and elliptical? And walk so my heartrate is 130, which is the fatburn HR for my age (20)?? Would that help me lose weight faster than running?

Thanks :D

It all depends, their are advantages to both. with the fat burn you go less intense so it burns from the fat stores instead of the glycogen or glucose stores but you have to go for longer to achieve the effect. With instense excercise like running it burns from the glycogen stores but burns more calories, so it comes down to the calorie in calorie out so weight is lost from that. i dont know if that helped i dont think i answered the question.
Its a 50/50 prop

I have a very important question Can using a treadmill help you lose body fat in the abdominal region of your body b/ i'm 5ft 5 and i weight approximately 145 pounds
so the "fatburn" setting i know is less intense for an avg heart rate of 130. but when im doing the elliptical my heart rate goes right up i have to concentrate on my breathing to keep it steady. it will be in the high 150's some times reaches 160. but I feel fine im not tired and rearly out of breath when doing this work out.  I will burn about 300 or more cals in a half hour. Is it bad for me to have my heart rate that high up??

i dont think that answers my question i'm talking about my situation with the treadmill can u lose body fat in the abdominal region of your body by using a treadmill
Yes. You can't choose where you will loose the fat, that's up to your body, but a treadmill can definitely reduce the amount of fat in your midsection.
The more intense the exercise (higher heart rate) the more calories you burn. Yes, if you are exercsing at a higher rate you will burn less fat percentage wise but more calories. You'll probably burn more fat because of the increase in the calories being burned. Running burns the most calories than any other aerobic exercise stick with it.
kind of a different ? but hoping in the right area with the right people to answer my ? I just walked a mile on my tmill. It took 20 mins. This included my cool down.My machine said i burned 176 cal .When i entered this in my log for exercise it caculated it at 97 cals. Which do i really go by? Trying to get back on track after taking too much time off.Gained about 20 lbs.Have to get it back off worked to hard to the 70 lbs to start with. Thanks to anyone that can answer this. This may help.I put in 3.0 on firm surface. In general really around 3.5 to 3.8.Maybe this makes a difference.
