cardio or weights for LONG LIVITY
i'm pretty sure its cardio...
but which is better? running or walking?..... intensity or milage?
but couldnt people who over- run themselves (not rest enough and such) get a shorter life?
i'm interested in this whole increasing lifespan thing... if anyone has like statistics or something, i'd like to know..
and...... is it alright for people to be sendentary on rest days?.... or on restdays do they have to work out- just differently?
how can people these days not be sendentary for atleast 4-5 hours with like jobs and schools and such :(
oh and when can running become dangerous for long livity?....how?
.. i think i may have started getting days when i'm too tired.... but i dont know why :(...... WHY CANT i be like some people here who can run 3-12 miles EVERY DAY. thats amazing......... i feel so unhealthy in comparison.... i want to live over 100 :)D
Do you mean longevity?
Running is excellent for cardiovascular health, but can damage some joints (ankles, knees, hips)
Weights can help you with your overall strength and health, but can also damage joints.
Both are good, especially together. But over doing both or either one can cause damage. Rest days are recommended to let your body recover and recuperate.

Obviously people are sedentary when they are working at sedentary jobs.
You really don't need more than an hour of exercise 5 days a week to keep healthy. People training for sports or events will do more, but everyone needs a rest day or two every week where you do not use the muscles you have been working and give the body a rest.
