I care about my nutrition but...
I don't really bother anymore to put in all of the nutritional information of everything I am eating. I just put in the calories. I still try to eat very healthy; it's just that I was finding it discouraging to have to input (even with the tagging) all of the stuff I ate. I am still trying to be as accurate as possible but... I've opted to be lazy and not put in all of the info.
Anybody else out there same way? Would you recommend doing that?
I used the tool for a few months and got a really good idea of how many calories most of what I eat is. Then I stopped. I can reflect back on a day or even think about what I'm going to eat during a day and usually be in a close range on calories. You have to do what works for you.
If you add 'a banana' to your food log, CC automatically works out the nutrition content as well as the calories. If you eat mostly healthy (unprocessed) food you don't have to enter the nutrition information separately.
I try not to eat processed foods, but it's kind of hard when you're a vegetarian, because a lot of the protein sources such as cheese, peanut butter , milk, soy milk etc. are the only sources of protein (generally) within my diet. I eat eggs, and those are usually no problem to input in cc. However, I tend to snack on things such as apples with peanut butter, yesterday I had a tofurky and goat cheese sandwich. So, I mean I think I eat pretty decently, but I still seem to spend a lot of time inputing nutritional data manually. Also, sometimes the nutrition facts (especially on tofurky) are not accurate on cc, when compared to the box.
If it's something that I have to manually enter myself, then I just put in the calories. The way I look at it, I'd rather be thin and unhealthy than fat and unhealthy. The funny thing is that I do find myself eating more nutritous foods like fruits and vegetables just because they tend to have less calories.
On the go andin the know.
