Does anyone have any nifty tricks to get the smell of vomit out of carpet?  Aside from Febreeze, please.

If you clean it, that should take care of the smell.  I have a spot bot (with Bissell carpet cleaning solution) or for really tough stains I call in a professional carpet cleaning company.

There are also some pet/child carpet enzymatic solutions that are supposed to get rid of odors from bodily fluids.  They have a wide selection at pet stores but they also have some at regular stores such as Wal-mart or the grocery store.

Try Windex (make sure the carpet is color fast first, just in case).  Just spray down real good and scrub in with a brush.  It worked when my son threw up for 11 days with a nasty virus!

Hi ugh this is a tough one.

You can try this, after cleaning the area with either dish soap or clothing soap bar (if not a carpet shampoo) apply a diluted 1:5 solution of a general disinfectant like Dettol.  After it dries and if you dislike the smell of the disinfectant you can use a carpet powder and vaccuum it up as per instructions.  I hope this helps.

I'll give everything a try this afternoon.  The stinky car is sitting in the sun in another city until 4.

Make a solution of 1 part Vinegar to 3 parts Water.  Guaranteed it will work from a mom with two small children and a dog.  (meInnocent)

Will also remove stains and other odors.

Should you ever get pet urine on your carpet, immediately blot, add SPRITE (sugar neutralizes the enzimes), blot and then follow up with Vinegar & Water solution.

I am just a vast wealth of information today, aren't I???Laughing

I'm happy to say Alex's car now smells like fragrant flowers with a hint of Windex.  A lot better than smelling like sour Whoppers. <3
