my cat

I just found out today that my cat might be in kidney failure, she's not doing well at all.  They gave her some fluids at the vet and took some blood samples, I'll find out for sure tomorrow what is wrong.  She's 16 years old and I've had her since I was 5.  I'm just writing here asking for maybe some people to say a prayer for her, I don't want her to be in pain and I don't want her to die.  Today has been the worst day ever :[

If she is sixteen, you have taken great care of her.  Be proud of that.

I hope things turn out all right. No matter what happens, remember that she is a cat, and therefore led a much happier and cooler life than most of us poor humans ever will.

We just had to put down my 17 year old kitty two days ago (monday)....I totally understand your pain...how scared and upset you must be.

-hugs- I hope she's alright, and if she isn't, I hope that you decide to let her go quickly. It hurts so so so much...but it's the best.

I went through the same recently with my bunny.  Hes still with us, but we have to give him fluids by IV everyday.  I was terrified we would have to let him go and I still am scared of the day that will come. 

Your kitty will be in my thoughts and I hope she is alright and you have more time with her.

Prayers for you and Saturn (cool name for a cat).  I suffered the unexpected loss of a beloved dog a few years ago, and there's many things that bring back happy memories of my "little man" Yukon. 

thank you so much everyone, it really means a lot to me.  i got the blood work results back and everything was normal except for her hematacrin and hemoglobin and they said that the only thing that would cause that is intestinal bleeding or a tumor usually, so i brought her back in for xrays this morning and got some bad news.  she has a very large tumor in one of her lungs and its so big its pushing on her esophagus, which is why she hasnt been eating and has lost so much weight.  they said that they could do surgery but it's not worth it for her because she is so old.  they also told me though that cats can live for quite a while with only one lung.  they gave her a cortizone shot and some iv fluids today to keep her hydrated and told me to call next wednesday to let them know how shes doing.  basically, if shes still not eating and everything, it's her time.  i am just trying to keep her as comfortable and happy as possible.  shes been eating the liquid from the canned cat food so ive just been going through cans and cans of cat food to get the juice out from it and she drank a little water today too, it made me feel a little better but it's just so sad to see her, she can hardly walk shes so weak from not eating and shes so skinny.  i just don't want her to be in any pain and the vet said he doesn't think that she is except for it might hurt a little when she eats but other than that she's probably okay so that made me feel a little better too.  i'll keep everyone updated and again, i really appreciate everyones support.

I'm so sorry the news wasn't better.  When my cat got really sick and was having trouble eating, I bought the cream soups - like cream of chicken - anything he really liked.  It was rich and he could just lap it up without chewing.  You might want to try something like that.  I know it's not easy but she is a very lucky cat to have someone like you who loves her so very much.
