Cat Ladies!

Quote  |  Reply
Is anyone out there a "cat lady" like myself??  I have two cats, and you'd think they were kid!  My sister, mom, and I are all the same.  We say we're going to be little old ladies living alone with several cats!!

My kitties are:

Thumbs- Tiger striped stud muffin. He has extra toes, hence the name thumbs.

Tiny Tim- Don't ask.  It's a girl, but she's tiny and has small little features, so I call her Tiny Tim (kinda weird, I know).

Please tell me i'm not the only one who loves her cats like they were kids!!

I am a cat, dog, fish and bird lady....... I guess I am preparing for the empty nest in advance. You are not alone

Cats: Pita, Pav and Pammy ( PAin in the A#@, Piss and Vinegar and Pam)

Dogs: Muncie, Molly, Bama and Walker

Bird: Gizmo ( who lays eggs and is now Gizmet)

Fish: Mr Husband, Her, Momma, spinner, Davey and Goliath

We love our fur, feather and scale babies just like children..... and they know it too.

Awww Julielet.. That's nice you're taking good care of all those animals.  My cats would love it if I got them a bird.  But, they'd probably eat it.  So, I got them a bird feeder so they'd have something to look at while i'm at work all day.
I want a cat badly. When I was a teen I had a cat that I loved so dearly.. He sadly passed far too young due to kidney and bladder trouble :/

He was my everything and I still miss him to this day. He was a grouchy, mean guy. He hated everyone, but me. I always kept him in my bedroom, because he was on a special diet for his bladder and the other cats wanted to eat it. *sigh*

My husband told me I can have a cat when the dog passes.

Right now we have two rats, a bunch of hermit crabs and a dog. I'm a weird pet lady. For a while I was known as the hermit crab lady because I kept harrassing the local pet stores for better treatment of the hermit crabs. I actually got the Petsmart to move their entire enclosure from the reptile wall to the fish wall *laughs*

I've always had lots of pets. Only now that I have my own apartment I realize what I made my poor mother suffer through. At the height of my pet collecting we must have had: 1 dog, 5 cats, 7 rabbits, 2 rats, fish and the occasional random bird that I would find outside. All in a city apartment o_o; Poor mom...

I am a crazy cat lady. Ok so its just one, but hes the baby.
He is a 22lb 3ft long Maine Coon named Grendelz. He like having a todler.
I have to have kid locks on the cabnits, and I dont get to sleep past 7am ever. But I love him. My husband and I refer to each other as "Mom" and "Dad". Yay kittys!
I have always had a cat. Since I was a little girl. Never more than one though. Now my husband and I practically run a zoo... 2 German Shephard Dogs, Roscoe and Nikita A Parrot named Baboo And my cat, Leo ( not to mention our 2 boys age 3 and 1) Most of our feinds and family think we are completely NUTS!!!

I just love cats becasue thay are so independent. I will always have at least one cat in my family! Suzana
I recently lost Alley to an evil dog.

I am not a cat ladie, but I am a cat man.

I still have orange cat(story in my journal)

I love him dearly
Catharina-- Get yourself a kitty! They're such great companions.. They can replace a man for me anyday (not in a sick way, though).

Astaria-- Your cat sounds like my dream cat!! I love big cats!  Lol... My boyfriend and I call eachother mom and dad of our kitties.

Mooney-- Cats are independent and that's really why I like them.  You have to work for their love, they just don't give it away to anyone!
Frothbeast-  I probably didn't know but what happened with the dog?  You don't have to share if it's too graphic or you don't want to! I think it's a great quality in a man when they like cats over dogs!!  It's always extra brownie points for them...
i've come to terms that I'm a cat lady. I"m only 21 though! haha

I have Batman- 2 yr old tuxedo cat. he's massive, most likely has wild parents. he weighs 16 pounds and likes to be a big tough guy but will still come cuddle with me. he has always liked to lay on my chest while i sleep but now he kinda smothers me when he does that lol

then I have Tarzan- 1 yr old thing. haha. probably has some siamese in him, he meows NONSTOP! we let them go outside about once a week and so he meows at hte door constantly b/c he wants to go out. he needs lots of attention, is always walkin on me. he wakes me up every mornign when the alarm goes off so i'll pet him. he loves to sleep underteh covers w/ me too haha.

they seriously are my babies. it's ridiculous. i buy them toys and beds and all sorts of stuff. they are hilarious.
ktcort-- I'm 22 and a cat lady, too!

Your kitties sound really cute.  I could sit around and watch mine all day.  Thumbs is a big guy, he's got a big belly and always lays on his back and stretches out.. I tell everyone he's showing them his fuzzy nuts.  Lol.  He's my little man.
The dog didn't come back, so i assume it is roaming and hunting still(must protect orange cat!)
I have just one cat.  His name is Bubba, he's 14 years old and a distinguished gentleman cat; an orange tabby who weighs 18 pounds.  Bubba eats only Max Cat or Friskies dry food.  He enjoys drinking from his pet fountain and likes to play in the water.  He's an Arm and Hammer Super Scoop man and won't set paw in anything less.  He is impeccable about his litter box and comes to tell me when he's used it so I can clean it up right away.  If I don't, it gets noisy!  Bubba has serious responsiblilties.  He works hard for 18 hours a day holding down the bed.  He alerts me to any bugs or other pesky critters in the house - getting rid of them is apparently my job.
LOL Clairelaine-- That's really cute! It goes without saying that you're a cat lady just like me.  He look like a stud muffin from the picture you've got.

Thumbs gets really noisy in the litterbox, too!  It drives my nuts to heard his nails scratching against the plastic, even when it's clean!
I have two cats and we call them our kids.  My husbands parents hate it.  We also have fish to entertain them. Gabby and Patons food dish is next to the fish tank and Paton will sit there for hours just watching them swim around.  Gabby, the name speaks for its self, she has to be the center of attention.

Funny stoy

We let them out all the time and they are well trained.  Never leave the yard and come when you tap on the window or snap your fingers out the door (weird).  Yesterday my husband let Gabby out and forgot to let her in before he left for work, and it rained.  I returned home to find a soaking wet cat on the back step. MEW MEW, if i didn't knw better I think she was crying.
I've always been a crazy cat lady, too, even when I was still just a crazy cat kid (at one point, we had 11 during my childhood).  Now I just have two:

Morla (named from the giant turtle in Neverending Story--anyone see it?)--she likes to follow me from room to room and get in my face when I'm on the computer, meowing the whole time.  Her most recent pasttime is to bring me all the birds of the neighborhood

Chelsea--sweet, sweet calico, but only to me--she's terrified of strangers.  In fact, I earned my title as crazy cat lady once when I had just moved to a new house, so she was a bit out of sorts, and a guy came to hook up my cable.  Anyway, she saw him and got so terrified that she tried to run up my gas fireplace and got stuck.  I started freaking out and trying to pull her out, and the guy came and helped me to take the front of the fireplace off.  I managed to pull her out, but then she took one look at the guy and started chomping my hand to be let down.  This was no regular little love bit--I felt teeth moving through my flesh and then blood started spurting everywhere and I almost passed out.  THEN, the bite got infected b/c I was put on the wrong antibiotic, and I had to go to the ER and (I couldn't believe it) get admitted to the hospital--$4000 bill for a cat bite.  Needless to say, all my family/friends said I should get rid of her (also b/c a few days later she managed to work her way up to the ceiling between the walls from a hole I hadn't noticed, and stayed there for a day--it's patched now).  But I couldn't give her away--she'd been scared and was in a new and frightening place, and I've never had any problems w/her again.  But I stay away from her teeth!  lol
haha clairelane he sounds hilarious! Luckily my cats have taken on the responsibility of ridding the house of any bugs. Sometiems I'll even let a bug in on purpose so they have something to chase. They always catch them :)

guera- my guy has always lvoed to lay on his back (he loves for me to hold him like a baby while he sleeps haha) and stretch out. he'll look at me so i can make sure to tell him how cute he is lol.

They are way too much fun. Does anyone else's cats love to play fetch? Batman loves to bring me his toy repeatedly so i can throw it for him. he even brings it to me when i'm sleeping (i'd hate to find what he puts in my bed if he ever caught anything living) or puts it in my shoe for me to find.
Thumbs used to play fetch with this penguin beanie baby I had.  They're soooo cute when they've got something in their mouth.  They just look funny.

My mom's cats-Tucker and Ian- are the sweetest boys ever!  We think they're kind of gay because they literally spoon eachother when they're laying down.  Well.. There's been this white female cat hanging around the house, well, both of them have been "having there way with her" I guess (they're both fixed!!!).  But, one night Ian came in from being out for a while, and Tucker sniffed him and his butt and them smacked him!!!  It was so funny, but I think Tucker was pissed because Ian was sleeping with his woman.  So I told my mom it's a soap opera "As the Litterbox Turns".  They made up and were spooning later, though.  I love those cats.
I am - and will always be - a crazy cat lady. And my husband will always be a crazy cat man.

We have six cats... if we could afford it, we would have at least a dozen.

The eldest is Isis, a black shorthair female that is eight years old.

Next is Solomon, a Ragdoll male that is seven years old.

Then there is Boris, an orange shorthair male who is six years old, and Squeaky, a medium-haired tortoiseshell female that is also six years old.

After that,  we have Socrates, a bluepoint Himalayan male who will be three in November and his younger brother Buddha, a bluepoint Himalayan male who is just a bit over seven months old. They're from the same mother and father; just different litters.

We have bowls for each, litter boxes for each, toys for each, many kitty condos... my husband recently converted an under-the-stairs storage area into a bathroom for them, with special fans and filters, etc. We also have little arched doorways in the walls near the bedroom doors for them to walk through when the human doors are closed. Hubby grows catnip for them. The house has cat toys everywhere!

We had to buy robotic vacuums to take care of all the fur!

They also receive the best medical care we can afford... special scanning to check their organs, advanced bloodwork... their predecessors (who lived to ripe old ages) got any and all medical care they needed (even down to radioactive iodide treatments for their thyroids at thousands a pop).

If there was an award for crazy cat people, it would probably be us... but it's because we take our commitments seriously. They're here for life.

We are the servants. They are the Masters. We do as we are told...

Uh-oh, they inform me it is "snack time" again. I must go, or pay the price... *runs off* "Coming, Master!..."

P.S. We have a few of our furbabies in my gallery...
My hubby and I are crazy critter people too!

We have a house cat - Oscar (aka Ozzie, Mr. Ozzie Paws).  He is my furbaby!  I'm his mummy - even got a mummy's day gift from him!  He sleeps on top of me at night and is such a sweet and cuddly guy!

We have Casey - a black Lab who we have just inherited from my mother-in-law.  She is a sweet old girl who adores my husband!

We also have eight horses: Shadow Dancer, Geronimo, Cherokee, Silver, Frosty, Baysia, Navajo and Thumbalina!

The pets all get Christmas gifts from Santa and give Christmas gifts to us!

Another year or two til we are able to afford to expand our family with kids so we are parents to all of our creatures!
Blackthorne!-- You've won the award!!!! You're officially the Cat Lady of CC!  I must admit i'm a little sad, but, I still have plenty of years left to gain the title.

I would like to be one of your cats!! I don't have health insurance so they're getting taken better care of than I am.  Lucky kitties.. I'll go check out your pictures.

Congratulations on your award!!
