Does this cause you to fall off the workout band wagon?

I seem to go through workout phases and fail miserably when i reach the maitenance stage.

the body I want, i will never have, long and lean, (model type) as i am build curvier. Even at my lowest I get discouraged knowing that I can't ever have the body I want. That being said i go through phases. I will workout for months, hard, 5,6 days a week and eat pretty well and achieve a body that i am ok with. The problem I have is that once I reach a point where I am ok with my body (usually 6 months after working out) I start to get overwhelmed at the amount of work, exercise and disipline it takes to have the body I finaly got and I get discouraged that I have worked so hard, yet can't have the body I want. So its almost like what's the point?

it also gets to be alot, working out instead of hanging out with friends (who are out drinking), hanging out with partner, etc. Now that i work full time its harder to find blaance between work, friends, and working out.

When i had a workout buddy i was able to go almost 2 years with a consistant workout plan. I haven't been able to find a replacement buddy who has the same workout structure as me.

any thoughts?

I'm sure I don't have the words of advise that you are looking for, but I'll try.  Watch the show "How to Look Good Naked."  It doesn't talk about weight loss or work outs, but it helps women learn to accept themselves as they are.  Maybe once you quit stressing with what is wrong, and focusing on what is right with your body, you can manage to get that workout/nutrition balance figured out.  I've got 22 more pounds to lose to reach my goal weight.  Who knows then if I'll be satisfied with my body.  In the meantime I am focusing on the weight loss part, and gradually adding more activity to my daily routine.  I'd love to be a run-way model, but if I can't obtain that, then I've got my health, family, friends and God to thank for accepting me for who I am, right now, and tomorrow, and even who I was yesterday.  Good Luck.  Life is what you make it.Laughing

YES, that show is amazing!!!! i also have a very curvy body. i AM overweight, however i know i will be bigger even at my goal weight. I strongly believe this is why i have yet to achieve my goal weight. but i am trying very hard to accept that my body is and will be even more beautiful once i uncover it from the chub!!

as far as working out, i would recommend just doing whatever you can- forget having a workout buddy because you can never count on another person as much as yourself. set a schedule and write it in as if it were an important appointment so you CAN NOT change or miss it. make it your #1 priority. if you want to go out, fine, go out!! but exercise for 30-40 minutes before hand!! if you feel it is taking time from a SO or another important person, talk to them and let them know this is important to you and you are making it a prioritym and then ask for their support. then it is all up to you!!

&nb sp;   It is very hard keeping on track. The seond time I got to my ideal weight I lost it after I started working 70 plus hours a week and added a boyfriend into the mix. I finally reeched the point where I told my boyfriend that I loved watching movies with him and I wanted to spend time with him. But for my own sanity I needed to get out running wether he wanted to come with me or not was k but I didn't want any pressure from him to not work out. He has since started running with me. He doesn't run without me yet on the three days a week I don't see him becuase I work just about the whole day but he does run with me.

&nb sp;  As for friends I told all mine the same thing a little differently put. As for partyng having party friens is kind of like having friends on the sport team you play on. One group parties all night while the other friends would encourage you to eat healthy and exercise.
