Find the link here on CC where this "statement" exists....
"Think of us as a diet plan incubator: we provide the information about what your body needs, and our community comes up with an endless supply of recipes and food combinations that fulfil those requirements."

Then post a "quote" of your own for people to hunt!

edit 11/12/2006: only guideline methinks, private journal entries NOT included, probably not public journal entries in general either since we've topped a quarter million members now!  yowser ;)

:)

OK.  Find where it says this:

"Most of us claim that we watch what we eat. We also claim we change the oil every 3,000 miles. Do we really? It has been shown in tests that we tend to forget some of the bites that we make throughout the day. It turns out that most of us do remember that hamburger and french fries we had on the way home. But the things we tend to forget are the 50 grams of chocolate, the can of Coke, the bag of popcorn, and the few cookies we had before we went to bed. Unfortunately, those little details make all the difference and the only way to stay on track is to have a clear and complete picture of what we really eat throughout the day."

Now find this:

Fiber is not a single food, but rather an undigestible complex carbohydrate. Since the body cannot absorb it, it has in itself no calories. Nevertheless, fibers called cellulose and hemicelluloses take up space in the stomach, making us feel full and therefore landing the top spot of calorie counters? friends.

I'm on a fiber kick right now. :)
ta da!

No diet in this world will allow you to eat as much as you want. Those diets that increase your calorie expenditure also limit your choice of menus, and those that limit certain nutrients also affect your health.
Found it! That was a lot of reading, too!

Here you go:

The key to success appears to be the sustainability of your approach to dieting. For example, tracking calories, avoiding certain foods, and exercising are all commonly used methods to lose weight.

Your turn:

Many of us have sedentary lifestyles, which means that we can afford only a relatively low number of calories per day in order to reach our dieting goals. The bottom line is that we have to eat less, and we have to find a way to get through this.
woo hoo!

And remember: shared pain is half the pain...

(You guys have no idea how long I've been waiting for this! It was the promise of a treasure hunt that prompted me to volunteer to help with the cc challenge!)
wow garnet - took me 3 times looking for it, but found it:

how about this?

"Let me be frank when I tell those out there willing to listen that there is no other way to drop the fat. You must make better nutritional choices than a Pogo and Poutine for lunch, and you have to get off your butt more often than to run up to the corner store to check your Super 7 numbers. (most of us are even lazier, and we use the web for that)."

"Small snacks can also help keep your body from running out of fuel"
Hehehehe... I recognized a famous CoachDee post right away! Poutine is like the national food of Canada, along with Butter Tarts. Poutine is french fries covered in gravy and cheese curds.

Edit: Since Garnie beat me to the punch. Here is the answer for the one she posted:

http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/article /jalapeno.html

How about this one:

"Some eating disorders are associated with obesity, especially binge eating disorder (BED). As the name indicates, patients with this disorder are prone to overeat, often in binges. A proposed mechanism is that the eating serves to reduce anxiety, and some parallels with substance abuse can be drawn. An important additional factor is that BED patients often lack the ability to recognize hunger and satisfaction, something that is normally learned in childhood. Learning theory suggests that early childhood conceptions may lead to an association between food and a calm mental state."
it was the poutine refrence that did it for me :)

"Small snacks can also help keep your body from running out of fuel"
ahaha, okay, you have to pick a new one :) I got that one too :)
Garnie, I already answer your quote. Please see edit above. Ok, here is a new one:

From what you wrote, it sounds like you aren't eating enough. I'm sure you know that when you don't eat (like skipping meals, etc.) you put your body in a state of emergency. It thinks it's starving, so whenever you eat something, it automatically stores it as fat so it has something to use later when it believes it's starving. But, it really never uses it, so you end up gaining weight. It's a vicious cycle. The best thing to do to get started is to start eating small meals all day long. Don't skip helping your body function. I'm not a nutitionist, but I have gone from 200 pounds to 145....size 22 to size 8. It really does help.
Yes, we're just passing each other :) posting too close together :)

I had to actually work for this one.

http://www.calorie-count.com/forums/post/page /1/9416.html

this one had better be hard!

"always focus on your breathing, and contraction of your abs, do not swing yourself up with your back or swing your legs up using your leg muscles."

*wanders back to figure out the deal with taking measurements*
http://www.calorie-count.com/forums/post/1266 6.html

Ok.. ok. I think I better up the stakes a bit. In theme with a current discussion in a thread on the public forums regarding unit measurement conversions. In the past, a user on this site asked a question about converting KJ, kilojoule a mesurement used in South Africa to calories (1 kilojoule = 239.005736 calorie). Which member of this site answered with sharing the following link and where is it posted in the public forums?:
