Types of High Blood Pressure

What Are the Different Type of High Blood Pressure?

Introduction

High blood pressure is a disorder than can be caused by a number of different diseases. Most cases of high blood pressure are due to essential hypertension but the others are still important to know about.

Essential Hypertension Is Most Common

The most common cause of high blood pressure. It refers to high blood pressure where there is no identifiable or reversible cause. This type of blood pressure often runs in the family.

Secondary Hypertension Is Potentially Reversible

Refers to high blood pressure where an identifiable and potentially reversible cause is found. Relatively few people (less than 5%) have this type of high blood pressure but early diagnosis and treatment may cure you.
