How old was I when I noticed?: like, 8 I'm a dancer and I never really thought about my weight until I started getting more serious about dance, which was after a competition when I was 14 and I got some special awards and an invitation to the national dance team. I didn't go because we were going on a family vacation the week of nationals, though. |

So I'm coming in mega-late, but I only just started using this community under a different name. Here we go:
Name: Sadie I have sort of an eating disorder, bouncing back between bulimic and anorexic. At my worst I was binging and purging 6 or 8 times a day, and then going a week without eating a thing. My best friend grabbed me and told me I needed to stop, or I was going to die. I told her she was just being dramatic, to try to scare me, but then I passed out on the stairs and fell down three floors, and I realized she was right. I've been in therapy since February and it's been helping, but my therapist isn't a nutritionist and isn't trained in eating disorders, so he doesn't know how to help me lose weight safely. New friends are totally welcome. Add me! |

I'm a late joiner, but I've been looking for a community like this, and I am so ready for this. It was sad, because I actually LOST about 15 pounds my first semester, and maintained for the rest of the year. I didn't gain weight until I was a sophomore, and I gained that 15 back, plus another 20 or so. I'm disgustingly back up to my weight as a high school junior, and I'm hoping I can get 20 off by fall break, October 15th. I would be happy with a total of 40 gone by winter, and I need all the motivation I can get, because I have a tendency to go good for a few days and then give up. |
