haha dont even worry about it. i gained about five pounds over summer and the start of the school year, and just two weeks ago my boyfriend told me that he finds me less physically attractive than he did when we first started dating (when I was.. um.. 14?). So yeah. i'm 17 now, and 122, and my boyfriend thinks I need to lose about 10 pounds. i'm aiming for 15, but that's a different story.
the point is, guys are jackasses about how girls should look, because they are used to the media's portrayal of what "sexy" looks like. But as long as you're happy with your own body and your own weight, it doesnt matter what they think. (:

mmm
its only a LITTLE disgusting, now that I think about it =\ i've had.. 2 chocolate sandwich cookies (kinda like ritz w/ chocolate creme in the middle), two small litchi hard candies, a fun sized bag of skittles, a fun sized bag of peanut m&ms, half of a regular sized baby ruth, 0.7 of a regular sized butterfingers, a beard papa's creme puff (havent had them since March! joyyyy!!!!), and a medium sized taro milk tea with boba.
probably more sugar in one day than I've had in the last four months combined. yet.. no guilt o.o |

try calinsthetics.. ? although its similar to lifting weights (you're still working the muscles) its technically.. not lifting weights?
And I agree with Clharr.. eating protein will do nothing if you're not putting that protein to use!
and if you're not constantly lifting / wanting to build muscle.. you should PROBabLY not be eating a mostly protein diet, since your body burns protein pretty much as a last resort |

well if i only eat a few its okay. its when the grapes are REALLY REALLY sweet and I eat a couple handfuls then I start getting sick.. happens with frosting too, which is why I scrape frosting off cake o.o |

wow all the posts here are really helpful >< i'm having the same trouble with measuring portion sizes in dining halls, cuz there's alwyas fluctuations on how much they serve you! does anyone have any tips on how to eye measurements?
btw patricia which school are you going to? The nutritional info page looks oddly like the UCLA nutrition page for their dorm food.. |

rawrg i hate how inaccurate my scale is >[ its always off by like...1 or 2 pounds so i never know exactly how heavy i am =X but it SEEM as though i've lost weight? idk :( i dunno if menstrual bloating changes my weight.. |

haha thanks for all the advice and encouragement, guys! I actually (kinda embarassed here) never thought about it from that perspective, and now that ya'll mention it, it makes a lot of sense. So i had a talk with my boy yesterday, and besides giving me a lot of tips from his physiological science class on what stuff is healthy, and telling me where I should be eating on campus next month (i'm going to college! whooppee!!!) he agreed to stop offering me goodies, and occasionally go with me to the gym!
so thanks for all the advice, everyone! it really helped a lot XP |

well besides the reward of being able to fit into all my old jeans (and looking good in my miniskirts from the BEGINNING of highschool) i'm gonna buy myself a new pair of SKINNY jeans when I lose ten pounds XP i'm so excited!! |

I'm not sure I'd be hte best person to answer, but i'll do the best i can.
I'm doing basically the same routine you are- doing cardio 30-60 minutes every day or two, and consuming 1400 calories, and so far i've lost about 3-4 pounds, so it seems like a legit diet to me. The problem about decreasing your intake is that once you start maintaining your weight (Rather than trying to lose it) you have to make SURE you're eating only what you're burning, and not trying to go back to your eating habits from before. The reason you gain back weight easily is becasue your body gets used to you eating less, and all of a sudden if you start eating a lot more, but burning the same amount as before, the extra calories start adding up. So yeah. the most important thing after reaching your goal is maintainance, and keeping a healthy lifestyle.

Bleh not much change this week :( i blame going on vacation (in my family that means living for three days on fruit, beef jerkey, chips, instant noodles, and cookies), and gorging on chips with my bff while watching "What Happens in Vegas" =(

keep your head up :) i know exactly how you feel. I was 118 yesterday morning, and all of a sudden this morning i was 120. I bombed this enTIRE week (ate out literally 5 days this week, since sunday) so dont feel too bad :) even if you mess one meal up, it won't be enough to set you back that much. Just keep your chin up, stare down that chocolate truffle cake, and turn the other cheek. No worries, you can do it XP
Besides, think on the bright side! If you hadnt had those six or seven chips, you might have cracked in a few days, and ate an entire order (not to belittle your self-control or anything. i'm just saying what I probably would have done LOL). and we both know an entire order of nachos is much more catastrophic than six or seven chips.
I hope you feel better! Remember, some indulgence every now and then will actualy HELP you stick to your diet. Just everything in moderation. I'm glad you only took six chips =)

I'm in that situation too =| I think i'm just going to not drink all that often, and when i do, i'll try to stick to drinks with the least calories, and pace myself ><; I'm kinda worried about dorm food too, since its a buffet for us haha (and our school's food is.. really amazing) LOL well.. good luck to all of us =d |

ahh i'm a little slow in replying, but i'm in too, if i can still join in!

I just had a dinner at a thai place tonight, and even though i didnt feel stuffed, I think i downed like.. a thousand calories :( [ i didnt even eat 1/3 of the food that me and my friend bought!].. i'm going to zankou chicken and 21 choices tomorrow (i'm gonna just have a chicken wrap.. and then a small yogurt =d) and then going to a family barbeque saturday, and then sushi with friends (lobster roll only? or + salad?) .. so i'm kind of scared =\

Heyy! I'm angie and I totally know waht you mean. I'm gonna be a college freshman in september too, and i'm SOO worried about the freshman fifteen. I just started watching what i eat like THIS month, and it took AGES to drop 2 pounds (i'm working at it! :( ) so hopefully i dont eat it back like. the first week haha
