I think everyone has it right...Just keep on being nice to her...maybe she will reach out to you...

I also totally look at what people are putting in their carts...Now that I finally get it...its like when I finally quit smoking...I felt sorry for all the smokers because I know how hard it will be for them...Its like I made the huge leap over the gaping crevice and made it...and they still have to make that jump...

If I see the skinny people I usually really pay attention...I want what they have... : )

Original Post by jlkrawec:

There is something that I wish a lot of teenagers would get through there heads.  A number on a scale...is not going to make you happy.

I am 13 and struggling with weight issues. It does certainly feel at times that a number on a scale will make me happy.

But then again, I have had INCREDIBLY low self-esteem even before I got pudgy (Yes, it's true: pudgy). And I am also struggling with a bouquet of mental issues, and I feel sometimes like I can solve all my problems by losing some weight.

And guess what? It worked! I lost 14 lbs in about 5 months. I went down from 156 lbs to 142 lbs over the summer, got myself organized and to school on time every day, I am doing my schoolwork regularly and am studying hard, and yes, the world seems like a better place and I like myself a whole lot more.

I think the weight loss kick-started my boost in self-esteem and I feel happier than I have in 6 years, so don't try to tell me that losing weight won't make you happier just because you're a teenager. Not all teen dieting is evil.

I am 12 pounds so far in three weeks...

Generally what I chose is low cal....I eat what I want....but I try to limit to 300 cal meals and 100 cal snacks....which usually winds up to about 1400-1700 cals a day...and about once a week I hit 2000 cals

Thank you so much for your replies...

It makes me feel better...

Now should I do this everyday...or should I give my body a break in between...I know if you are lifting weights your muscles have to relax...but is this the same as for walking...

I also had fun this weekend...not as much as you...lol...but...I gained 2 1/2 pounds...and thankfully after yesterday of drinking much water to flush me out...I was back down by two of the pounds...

Don't lose your motivation...the only thing accomplished by that is more weight gain...Do you really want to go higher?....I think not....

So...if you feel like quiting....Really answer this...Do you want to be heavier?

I had a Whopper also last week with cheese and a large fry...I lost three pounds for the week...

Original Post by armandleg:

I had a Whopper last week. I still ended up losing roughly 1.5lbs.

To be honest, having the occasional bad-food item is okay. I think learning how to balance out the good and the bad is a great thing. As long as you eat healthy the majority of the time, that one bad decision isn't really going to kill you. Part of learning a healthy lifestyle is learning when it's okay to be bad. =)

Now, if this were a daily thing, that's a bit of a problem. Once a week or so, though? That's not bad at all. Live a little. =D Enjoy the occasional bad food!  Then go right back to eating right tomorrow.
